oh c’mon! do you honestly think that no other president has ever in the history of that desk proped his feet up on it. it is a desk...just a desk. antiques are only valuable (imo)if they are used for the purpose for which they are designed. what is the point of owning a 200 yr. old chair if you never sit in it. that isn’t a chair its a dusting dammit and should be in a museum. the resolute desk is a DESK where someone works. some guy sits behind that desk and does his job (hopefully) and i bet every one of the guys who have sat there have propped their feet on the thing.

I wouldn't put my feet up on this plastic piece of crap I'm sitting at right now, because I don't own it. They certainly shouldn't do that to a historic object like that.
