I know that a lot of comedians started out as the class clown, but when people are paying you millions of dollars to entertain millions of people, you have to leave some of that stuff back in junior high. The comedy sketches are sometimes funny, but more often than not, they're like SNL skits that take a punch line and try to string one minute's worth of funny into five minutes. Maybe we Baby Boomers were raised on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, where quick takes were the norm.
Letterman's not terribly funny, I will look forward to Jay Leno's ten o'clock show in the fall, and maybe I'll just get to sleep earlier at night. They're telling Jay that he cannot poach the top guests away from Conan, which is fine with me, I really don't care to hear what some brainless starlet has to say when she's not reading lines from a script. Hopefully, his comedy writers are going along with him, it would be fine with me if he just spent an hour doing that.
I’ve gotten to the point I can’t stand either one of them.
(I mean CO and DL, not bdeaner and hunter 112, just for clarification...)
