Stand with Michael Savage petition
Jumping in Pools ^ | 5/15/2009 | Tim K.

There is always time for political and partisan bickering, but when an American is banned from entering the United Kingdom because of his political beliefs, all Americans have the obligation to stand for that American, no matter what his political beliefs stand on the political spectrum. With that stated, all Americans should come out in support of Conservative talk show host Michael Savage, who I listen to on a regular basis, as he has been attacked for his Conservative viewpoints - via being banned from entering the Nation of England, because of his Conservative American beliefs.

The silence from Conservatives across the spectrum is deafening, unexpected, and absurd. Michael Savage would stand with all and any who need their political opinions defended, especially with his political allies in the Conservative talk radio medium, yet not one Conservative or Republican for that matter has publicity come out in defense of Mr.Savage, nor have they even mentioned his story.

Might be a reason for that...

I'll sign it but I wonder about this:

"Attacking Conservatives for their opinions anywhere is horrible, but banning one for his opinions - is even worse."

Would Mr. Savage be similarly willing to defend the free speech of Marxists and Muslims?

No problem. I canceled my vacation and future vacations to Great Britain. Fascist nations won’t get my money. It’s bad enough that I’m living in one now.

I dare say "a good deal more than for Savage."

Wonder what everyone’s reaction would be if the tables were turned? What if we banned someone from entering the United States and their citizens were sending us position? I think that we would scoff at it quickly.

I’m serious as a heart attack.

Savage has his myrmidons...and that’s it. Even Elian Gonzalez roused more popular support, and he wasn’t even American.

Reason is that Savage will call out a faux conservative...and they do not like it.

Savage is right....most of these Republican talk show hosts are not really conservative.

Savage is an opportunistic imposter. Wise up.

The reason for that is the same reason the Republicans are disappearing into obscurity, they stand for nothing and are spineless and scared that the media will call them right wing crazies.

The writer is wrong, there have been some conservatives publicly coming out in defense of Savage, Prager, Ingraham, Humphries, Jesse Peterson, Roy Masters, Jeff Kuhner, to name a few.

The fact that Rush, Hannity, Levin and other Freeps put pettiness over principle just tells me that too many conservatives still don't understand what they're up against and until they do things will continue to devolve into Marxist hell. Divided we fall.

The fact so few “conservatives” are talking about this is sickening and reflective of exactly where we are headed.

The concept of free speech is apparently foreign to some of our “conservative” members on this very forum.

As is the story of "chicken little" to others...

I am always amazed by "conservatives" who are smart enough to know liberals are wrong, but don't think to question the fundamental worldview they were taught by liberals in the first place.
