If Chris Matthews likes it, it’s trash.
It´s a shame Churchhill couldn´t foresee the future and send a bust of the Bamster back to the U.S. following WWII.
I feel the same way about Matthews, but the film looks like it may be very good. The same guy who worked on their “John Adams” miniseries worked on this film. The “John Adams” series was outstanding.
Haven’t had HBO since the Sopranos. I just download the John Adams series and the recent ratings winner for HBO: Taking Chance about Kevin Bacon (Lt Strobel) bringing home Pvt Chance back to Montana. The rest is liberal crap.
Churchill did see the future of Eastern Europe quite accurately.
Too late. There is already an EXCELLENT movie about the subject, called “A Gathering Storm.” DON’T miss it. It is FABULOUS, and Albert Finney does an admiral job as WC.
"The Gathering Storm" was made by HBO Films. Thankfully, HBO is pressing on after the death of Finney, picking up with this film where Gathering Storm left off.

Okay, so Finney isn’t dead. My apologies.
But he is also not available.
I am proud to say that I own a copy of “The Gathering Storm “ and have been waitng YERAS for the sequal. I hope they don’t let us down. TGS was excellent.
