Last Thursday night on the Senate floor, Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., told Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter, then still a Republican, that DeMint would be supporting Specter’s rival, former Rep. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., in next year’s Senate Republican primary.
DeMint says Specter “pretty much cut me off and said, ‘I’ve heard enough.’”

Specter trashed the Club for Growth four times a moment ago in his statement to the press. Good riddance!
Arlen my find himself unemployed in 2011. He may “join” the Democrats, but look for some long time Pennsylvania Democrat to challenge him in the primary and win. BAWAHAHA!

Unfortunately, I doubt Toomey can beat Specter now. Toomey’s best shot was in the primary.

We’ll see. Frankly, I’m amazed the Dems will just accept him with open arms, no questions asked. The guy who was backed by their version of the anti-Christ, Dubya and Santorum in ‘04. Perhaps the PA Republicans should flood the Dem primary and vote for some nobody opponent to take him out next year (assuming he’s still breathing - I said I expected him to die before the end of his term in 2011 back in 2004). This happened when that backstabbing weasel Michael Forbes switched to the rodents on Long Island and lost to an elderly schoolteacher and we took the seat back. I think things are going to get a lot worse between now and Nov 2010 and the Dems are going to deserve 100% credit for the disaster, and that includes this senile little weasel.
Yeah, for two years. That seat then went back to the Dems and has remained there since 2002.
Obama has promised to campaign with Arlen so the deck appears to be all clear for him in the Dem primary.
I agree with you about the economy and 2010, Odinga is going to cause a run on the currency with his obscene spending, tax hikes, and God knows what other economic damage he will cause between now and November, ‘10.

Perchance to dream, Part Two. The first thing that hit me was, "How do the Democrats who were going to run feel about this?" It's my fervent hope that the Party Democrats will rally behind one of their own and let this bozo twist in the wind. Unfortunately, this is politics, and the Dems might figure that Specter's seniority would be an asset and throw their own candidates under the bus.
That was because Felix Grucci screwed up with his boneheaded reelection campaign. He shouldn’t have lost it.

Why are you amazed..With Arlen and Franken...the Dems can count on two or three other RINOs as well, which will let a few of the moderate Dems stray off the reservation on key votes..like Landrieu
I’m amazed because look at what happened when Lieberman didn’t vote in complete Stalinist lock-step in CT, and he was well to the left of Lex Luthor of Scotland there. The moonbat nutroots still has to remember this WAS the candidate of Dubya and Santorum, and for that reason, they can’t fully embrace him as a Democrat.
This same thing even occurred when one Dem in Michigan admitted to me he never trusted Don Riegle as Senator because Riegle served for his first few terms in Congress as a Republican (even though he was essentially a Socialist one) before switching parties. The Dems have far less use for Republicans that switch over to their side than vice-versa. Part of their paranoia.
