Can we get Indian ground troops? Because we sure as heck won’t set boots on the ground over there (numerically and politically unfeasible).
Not possible. Not even remotely.
Is it time to invade? Absolutely not. We need to talk some more. /sarc
You first.
It may be time for India to invade Pakistan.
India’s been raring to go for years.
Great, and we have the Vichy regime in the White House!! Of course we wouldn’t invade Poh-ch-stan! Barry will go over and say “I’m Sorry” first......We’re sorry Taliban for kicking you out of Afganistan and killing so many of your fellow peoples....UGHHHH! Thanks alot Obama voters...
A lot of countries have nukes that we haven’t invaded. Let the country that is really threatened cast the first bomb and send their troops.
Send in the Delta Force and seize their nukes. If they want to fight after that, make it an air war. The Army will argue “boots on the ground”, but that is early last century type thinking. Don’t get bogged down again.
Was nice when Bush and Pervez sat on Pakistan.
It was time to do it Fall 2001. Now it’s well past time. But it still should be done.
This can only be solved through the United Nations. I’m sure the rest of the world is just as concerned as we are.
A security council resolution would easily pass as a result.

Didn’t Obama take a lot of heat during the campaign when he said something about invading Pakistan? It is possible I’m remembering incorrectly, but I seem to remember some people getting pretty riled up at Obama suggesting that he would invade one of our “allies” (I use that term loosely these days).
There is no way we can allow the Taliban in concert with al-Qaeda to take over the nuke facilities in Pakistan.
America under Obama will not take any appropriate ass kicking action to stop this. The Obama Administration has already declared that there are NO TERRORISTS.
However neither India nor Israel can allow the Tally Bon to get anywhere near access to Pakistans military might. India would invade if it beleived that was happening and Israel would probally use tactical nuke strikes to destroy either the Tally Bon or the Pakistani nukes.
The world moves closer to the end times thanks to a weak American President.
If I were Israel I’d be a tad concerned. If the Taliban gets ahold of those nukes Iran wont have to do anymore work to develope theirs.
I’d bet if that happens the Indians and Israel will become strange allies.
Its gonna be the big one Elizabeth.

I have a professor from Afghanistan who has said for 15 years that Pakistan is the most dangerous country in the world. He’s totally right.
The Taliban is 60 miles from Islamabad. 0bama will never invade, so I’d say our only real hope is India. Maybe Karzai will continue sending Afghan troops across the border to deal with cross-border AQ/Taliban attackers, but to actually clean out Waziristan and the NWFP will take an invasion. And unfortunately it won’t be coming from us.
Laughable at best...
The real difficulty is that neither the formal government nor the Taliban want us to do this and that the nuclear weapons whose possession would likely be in play as a result, we don't want in play. India is understandably reluctant to re-ignite the passions of the mid 40's, particularly in view of the potential cost of a long-term occupation of a traditional foe. It would likely turn into Iraq Redux, and unfortunately in Mr. Obama we do not have Bush Redux.
And that's a pity, because that country really is a major sanctuary and breeding ground for militant Islamists. Should we wish to force a more or less conventional confrontation with them that would be the place to do it. I would much rather seize the initiative and prosecute the war there, because with nuclear weapons in the hands of the Taliban it is highly likely to come here eventually. But the political will to do what must be done simply isn't there and Bambi isn't going to find it in Brussels or the UN.
