There is no way we can allow the Taliban in concert with al-Qaeda to take over the nuke facilities in Pakistan. One would hope that the Pakistanis would have moved the weapons after the previous attacks and it is imperative that the Obama administration find out if they were indeed secreted out to another location. If not, we must press strongly for providing assistance and if they decline we must insist in the strongest possible terms. If that doesn't work, an invasion may need to be considered. A nuclear al-Qaeda is the worst of all possible scenarios. A tight blockade of the entire Pakistani coastline would be a requisite action and stopping and boarding all ships would be the only way we could ensure that a nuke was not smuggled out of the country. An action along the northern frontier to prevent transport out through one of the "stans" or west through Iran would require a major effort.

Can we get Indian ground troops? Because we sure as heck won’t set boots on the ground over there (numerically and politically unfeasible).
Not possible. Not even remotely.
Is it time to invade? Absolutely not. We need to talk some more. /sarc
You first.
It may be time for India to invade Pakistan.
India’s been raring to go for years.
Which of our 50 Divisions would you choose to use?
Been there actually. brought the Pakistani peacekeepers to Somalia in 1992.
Great, and we have the Vichy regime in the White House!! Of course we wouldn’t invade Poh-ch-stan! Barry will go over and say “I’m Sorry” first......We’re sorry Taliban for kicking you out of Afganistan and killing so many of your fellow peoples....UGHHHH! Thanks alot Obama voters...
Then you would know that taking on the Pakistani army on their own turf would be nothing like taking on Iraq or Panama or Somalia. And invasion like this would number the casualties in the tens of thousands.
A lot of countries have nukes that we haven’t invaded. Let the country that is really threatened cast the first bomb and send their troops.
Agreed, but what would a nuke in the hands of al-Qaeda result in? I’m not advocating it, I’m asking the question. We could act covertly or we can act overtly, whichever works. Plus, I don’t want to send our guys in unless we have no other recourse.
Send in the Delta Force and seize their nukes. If they want to fight after that, make it an air war. The Army will argue “boots on the ground”, but that is early last century type thinking. Don’t get bogged down again.
Was nice when Bush and Pervez sat on Pakistan.
It was time to do it Fall 2001. Now it’s well past time. But it still should be done.
This can only be solved through the United Nations. I’m sure the rest of the world is just as concerned as we are.
A security council resolution would easily pass as a result.

Didn’t Obama take a lot of heat during the campaign when he said something about invading Pakistan? It is possible I’m remembering incorrectly, but I seem to remember some people getting pretty riled up at Obama suggesting that he would invade one of our “allies” (I use that term loosely these days).
