Proving the old adage that instead of sitting quietly letting everyone think you are an idiot one should speak up and prove it, funnyman John Cleese and Kung Fu action star Jackie Chan recently did some talking that they should probably have avoided. Apparently unaware that they've left office, Cleese unloaded on George W. Bush and Dick Cheney and seemed to say U.S. Marines weren't very sophisticated at a recent visit to Cornell University. For his part, Jackie Chan announced to the world that Chinese people "needed controlling" because all that darn democracy is just too "chaotic" for them. One wonders where Jackie thinks all his many millions of dollars have come from: communism or democracy?
Chan's comments were so ridiculous that even the communist Chinese government thought they were foolish enough to denounce in the Chinese press...

Do you have any idea who made that video? Was it a conservative organization, or was it just some random guy out in the Internet wilderness?
A Republic relies on the people receiving accurate & honest information, with which they may make the proper decision(s) which almost automatically eliminates the political liars and scoundrels.
"Our elected officials have little or none of either quality, hence the problems of America today."
Indeed, spot-on.
Conversely when a Republic's citizens receive faulty, false information? They're nearly guaranteed to make faulty decisions. Leading directly to, as you said, "...the problems of America today."
Information sources and those who endeavor to manipulate it for their own gain(s) is the weakest link in a[ny] Republic.
I guess I am bi-booksexual. I like em with and without pictures LOL.....
I didn’t even like Fawlty Towers.
I think Cleese was always nasty in character and in person.
Many comedians are nasty, snide and mean underneath. Think about it.
If it wasn’t fpr US marines, England would be speaking German today!
I wonder when little Jackie will be moving back to China, givng all of his money to the government and living in typical slave fashion? Or is he “above” all that?
“In Chans defense, have you ever watched the Chinese drive?”
The Chinese? They don’t drive... they aim!!
If he's too ignorant to know the difference, then he shouldn't be shooting his mouth off. Just shut up and act (or do whatever it is he does).
Don't mention the war!
GMTA?
Per Capita GDP:
Hong Kong - $44,800
Tiawan - $31,600
China - $6,000
Yeah...that would suck for the Chinese...

Our undisciplined, unsophisticated boys kick the Redcoats tail and sent them packing right back to their beloved king. We then bailed every bodies butt out of Europe. Grant it, we did not do this alone, but the Brits didn’t stand a chance without our involvement.
Has Been, they name is Cleese. The Brit is a bitter prune whose desperately clawing for validation and attention.
My pleasure, pass it on.......
Not to mention the French also.
Cleese was terrible in the Bond films. You felt sorry for him.
“Chan is right, Democracy is chaotic, as it is nothing more than mob rule where 51% can violate the rights of the other 49%.”
51% of who vote, some more than others.
“If it wasnt for US marines, England would be speaking German today!”
If speaking at all.
