Either the woman scams you right away or you get married and 10 years latter gets half your stuff, might as well save some time and just give up the cash right away.

Another giveaway is that their postings are printed in multiple colors, and refer to the sun.

The scammers are not just online. Having experienced firsthand someone who took his cues from his Nigerien cousins.
Rule #1 Check all surrounding county website sites for Common Plea court actions!
Rule #2 Dont take someones word as being the truth. Watch out for those who have just one too many people singing his praises.
Rule #3 Beware the plainly wrapped Christmas gift presented to you in front of your family being sheepishly handed over to you
or you could end up with a " Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" day calender!

Typically if they are overseas, your red flags should be going up big time.
You have a scammer if:
- They are a beautiful white model in Nigeria or Uganda
- They grew up in the U.S., but speak broken English.
- They are overseas and want you to send money.
- They want you to send money on Western Union or a similar wire service. (They are untraceable. No way to trace who picks up the money.)
- They are in Russia and claim to be able to travel to the U.S. It's almost impossible for a single female to get a travel visa to the U.S.
- They are about to come to you and suddenly run into unexpected expenses.
- You check the full header of the email to get the originating IP address and do a whois and it's coming from a different country than they've represented, or it's coming from Africa.
- They want you to pay for translation services.
- They want you to pay for phone costs (do an internet check on rates, the costs they are claiming will be vastly inflated.)
- They will come to you and marry you sight unseen, if only you will pay a health/hotel/travel/visa/etc bill.

On one site I had (I think) the same individual try 3 times to con me.
She claimed to be a Dentist, but the text was worse than a Babelfish translation. The claimed education and the lack shown are a dead giveaway.

Hum, saw the title and said, Have to flag Randall to this and low and behold you were already here. :-)
Morning! We’re (Mom and I) are going to go see Ka tonight at the MGM. Should be a fun show. The flight up was fun, the shuttle to the hotel, not so great. May have to rethink this travel group.

It wasn’t online, but the best personal ad I ever saw was in our local paper. It was by a 40 YO 5’6” 350 lb. male “just looking for someone to spank me.”
