Maxine Waters Shows America How 'Stimulus' Really Works
Start Thinking Right ^ | March 15, 2009 | Michael Eden

From Pajamas media:

MAXINE WATERS AND THE CULTURE OF CORRUPTION: Waters Helped Bank Whose Stock She Once Owned. “Ms. Waters and her husband have both held financial stakes in the bank. Until recently, her husband was a director. At the same time, Ms. Waters has publicly boosted OneUnited’s executives and criticized its government regulators during congressional hearings. Last fall, she helped secure the bank a meeting with Treasury officials.”

UPDATE: More here: “Note that OneUnited is the same bank whose relationship with Barney Frank raised some eyebrows back in January. After receiving $12 million in bailout funds with Frank’s help, the FDIC issued a cease-and-desist order against the bank, in part related to the fact that the bank was paying for the CEO’s beach house and Porsche.” The country’s in the very best of hands.

Pork? Did anyone say "PORK"? I hope not. Barack Obama assurred us there isn't any - and news to the contrary would make him out to be a liar and a fool.

Rep. Maxine Waters doesn't have to worry about her clear and obvious violation of ethics. Remember, the same House Speaker who once boasted, "The American people voted to restore integrity and honesty in Washington, D.C., and the Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history," never bothered to weed out a Democrat who was caught red-handed with $90,000 of bribe money. So it's safe to say that Maxine Waters will be fine. Nothing to see here, folks.

The Party of Blagojevich, the party of the Chicago political machine that gave Barack Obama his big start, is chugging along - and it runs on trillions (because 'billions' aint nothin' any more) of taxpayer dollars.

The entire Black Caucus needs to be investigated for corruption. They should not get a free pass because of skin color.

How did she know when to sell the stock? I bet she knew the whole sub-prime was going to explode.

I think that your list is a demonstration that it is really more accurate to wonder if there is any NON-pork in the stimulus bill than to wonder if there is any pork.

And I think it was obscene for Obama to do this massive stimulus - the real price tag of which is NOT $787 billion but $3.27 TRILLION (see http://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/stimulus_bill_pork/2009/02/14/181864.html) - before making any effort to fix what was actually broke in our economy.

One day this guy is going to be put on trial for his destruction of America.

How did she know when to sell the stock? I bet she knew the whole sub-prime was going to explode.

I watched a PBS program called "Inside the Meltdown" (I think) and came away with a conspiracy theory.

Bear Stearns and Lehman Bros. were felled by RUMORS. Their assets were in no worse shape than anyone else in their industry. And, frankly, given that both had billions in reserves on their books, they were as shocked as anyone else when the media started reporting the "rumors" that they were insolvent.

When the rumors started, the PBS program brought out, it didn't matter whether they were solvent or not. Everybody bailed on them, and what would have been (relatively) healthy companies suddenly didn't have enough cash to survive the gigantic rushes on them, one after another.

So I'm left thinking, "Who started the rumors?" And why?

And the easiest answer is, "The Democrats." They had the most to gain from it. And, given the way Obama and the Democrats have fearmongered the crisis rather than trying to solve it, they STILL have the most to gain from it.
