The screaming leftards have finally gotten their way. Defense Secretary Gates has given in to their manufactured anti-war outrage. He will now allow flag draped coffins to be used as anti-America propaganda by the foam-at-the-mouth leftists who are still angry about us winning the Iraq war.
This has been a sore subject for me. Regardless of where you stand on the war, you know there are casualties; the government is not hiding anything. In fact, each death is announced, along with the person's name and a picture if available. Taking pictures of coffins and having ideological spats over them disrespects our fallen patriots.

Having watched “Taking Chance”, I’d say I have mixed feelings about this.
A scary portion of our country no longer understands, in any way, the deep and heartfelt meaning behind the military’s handling of our war dead.
It was a fine film, no matter how one may feel about HBO or Kevin Bacon.

I thought we had a new president, and his name is Obama- and doesn’t he OWN the continuing presence of American troops in harm’s way?
What am I not understanding?
To the hard left: If your president zero had done what he promised you folks and withdrawn troops from war zones, there would be NO coffins to take pictures of! (we won’t go into all the other problems that we would be facing)
Do they still blame an ex-president for current wartime fatalities? I think we need to remind them of a few facts -using simple words and short sentences so they can understand what is going on.
Yes, let’s show pictures of flag-draped coffins - with the title ‘Obama is in charge now and he can’t blame this on anyone else’.
The fact the zero evidently has had it pointed out to him that fulfilling any of his promises, especially the one about pulling our troops out of Iraq immediately, would not be a great idea - does not alter the fact that he did promise to do exactly that, and any deaths that have occurred since he took office, belong to HIM.

So sad the exploitation of symbolism. To use someone’s death and remains as a means to further one’s agenda. Every time I see this I think of how the parents of the departed would react and feel. Such fuels the suffering.
