Without a doubt.

>>>>>To say that we ran a deficit in 2008 of over $1 trillion is simply not true.

I didn't say that, but I wouldn't be surprised if the 2008 budget deficit exceeds $1-trillion. The 2009 budget deficit will some close to $2-trillion dollars. Also, don't forget, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars are off-budget items.

In reality, the entire $700-billion of TARP funds was agreed upon by Congress last year. They held back half, or $350-billion because of public outrage. The remainder of the 2009 budget equals nine annual appropriations bills left over from last year that are needed to fund programs. Additional cost added by the Dems over the Bush budget, $32-billion.

>>>>>At the same time, they will not assign the entire $787 billion of the so-called 'stimulus' bill onto the current year, instead deferring that spending onto future years.

I know. I said it adds to the federal debt but it will increase the 2009 deficit too. The Porkulus bill comes under what is called, creative accounting and both Democrats and Republicans play the numbers game when it suits them.

You asked — “Is it not true?”

Yep, very true all right...

After it’s all said and done, though, with Obama, we’ll probably inherit a lot more...

More creative accounting by the Feds. LOL

I still say that when everything is said and done, there will be close a $2-trillion deficit for 2009. Chances are the 2008 budget deficit will be a trillion dollars, thanks to the Bear Stearns, Fannie and Freddie bailouts.

Every time I hear this clap-trap I wish some Repub would have the stones, at the very least, the honesty, to point out that CLINTON left BUSH with a trillion dollar + terrorist problem, a so-called "great economy" and "surplus" that were built on IRRATIONAL EXUBERANCE, namely dot.com and real estate bubbles that were starting to burst BEFORE the Chi-com sellout left office...and thus left Bush with a recession... unprecedented corporate corruption of which were mostly democrap contributors who's crimes were perpetrated DURING the clinton administration...but brought to light under the Bush administration, and last, but not least....Obambi better hope(with the financial situation)that he doesn't have to deal with HALF the natural disasters the size and scope of which Bush had to deal with.

Oh, almost forgot, there's that little thing called the election 2000 fiasco in which Bush didn't even have his cabinet settled in before 9/11...AND started off with half the country absolutely hating his guts...instead of having "tingly" feelings about him.

Look, I am no fan of MANY of the decisions President Bush made during his presidency, but some of the outright garbage the dems and their whores in the media are spewing and going unchecked is so thick one needs a bulldozer to remove the bullsh*t.

Come on GOP rep's...show a little fortitude, will ya?
