THIS ISN'T KANSAS ... BUT MAYBE IT SHOULD BE

Topeka, Kansas - state capital

Politically speaking, I find that Republicans are far more likable when they behave like Republicans.

And when they actually take principled stands on issues that will almost certainly prove unpopular with large segments of the population, they’re downright adorable.

There aren’t a whole hell of a lot of Republicans here in New York – and I am including those who actually have “R”s after their names – which is why it behooves many of us Empire Staters who wish to find principled Republicans to look southward and westward into the vast expanse of “flyover” country – where the soul of America really resides.

Today, I invite those of you taking notes to take a look at Kansas. (For those on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, it’s one of America’s 57 states, located west of twelfth Avenue, where the corn and stuff is).

Kansas is out of money. In fact, they’ve put a halt on issuing income tax refund checks. They’re even facing the possibility of not being able to pay state employees, this according to the State’s Budget Director.

(Here’s where Republicans act like Republicans).

Governor Kathleen Sebelius, a Democrat, has suggested that ...

They will have to cowtow to Obozo to get him to print em up a fresh batch of Obamabucks. What a friggin joke this is. There is no hope with these Baffons in charge. We are going down.

The funny part of all of this is that for years the left claimed that the libtopian states have more money than ones that aren't. With this in mind ask one of them who is going to have to pay the most for Obummer’s Libmas present spending bill.

Good for the Republicans in Kansas.

It's been abundantly clear for some time now that our economy is in a bad way. Each and every state should have slashed budgets by now. Does anyone live in a state that has been responsible about making the kind of spending reductions most citizens and private businesses have had to do?

It looks like most of them have just been sitting on the curb waiting for the federal bailout check to come. Well, even when it comes, it won't be enough. Irresponsible state legislatures are wasting precious resources as they try to continue business as usual while everything is collapsing around them.

Many of us have been demanding our state governments make the painful cuts now to save even worse pain later, but it falls on deaf ears. Republicans in state Houses all over the country need to make their stand now because it appears the Democrats will keep playing the denial game until the music stops.
