Like millions of my fellow Americans I want Barack Obama to succeed in governing America and reviving the economy, despite my opposition to his candidacy.
I had hoped that being the cautious man he appears to be, President-elect Obama would avoid taking extreme positions and policies vis-à-vis the economy and settle for the tried-and-true approaches to economic stability.
It appears that I was wrong. In an era when it is essential for out-of-control government spending to be halted and drastically cut back, Barack Obama wants to spend at least $800 billion on a so-called stimulus package which many predict will soar past a trillion dollars.

This new administration is going to be Jimmy Carter x 100 in the failure and devastation at home and abroad that will be wrought on us.

You know, if the idiots running the village are gonna give money away anyhow...instead of an 800 billion-dollar bailout,why not just give each of the country’s 300-odd million citizens a million dollars each? People could pay off their debts,maybe go buy a car or some other big-ticket item,maybe take a vacation....talk about a stimulus! Why should the banks and the unions be the only ones who get a slab of cake???? How about us lil’folks???

So, let history repeat itself. We survived four years of a peanut farmer, surely we can survive four years of a community organizer.
And I remember how excited people were about Carter. Just like they’re excited about O-boy.
