Obama's Election Is a Vindication of Republican Values

It's been a while since I've posted anything. Of course, the election of Obama was disappointing and I've been, among other things, taking some time to get acclimated to the news. That said, one thought that's been constantly running through my mind is that, contrary to the notion that the election of Obama represents a "sea change" in favor of "progressive" values, what Obama's ascent actually represents is a vindication of Republican values and American exceptionalism.

what the election of Obama actually proves is that, whatever its flaws, America is in fact the greatest country in the world, a place where anyone -- regardless of race, religion or creed -- can achieve beyond his wildest dreams.

Or our wildest nightmares. (shudder)

Your nightmares must be pretty tame.

Your nightmares must be pretty tame.

Our entire government turned over to Marxists and our sovereignty turned over to the UN. Illegals granted amnesty and a new generation coming in with impunity. The USA to become Canada writ large. Hyperinflation and Hyperunemployment.

I don't know about LC, but those are my MILDEST nightmares -- and my predictions under the new fuhrer.

I think this is going to be the fight we will see and if the republicans don’t put up a damn good fight against this, then we are sunk. Even if we were to be able to start a true conservative party, it would end with the same results as any other 3rd party. I am not optimistic.

I am usually very anti-third party. However, IF the GOP shrinks in every way possible, then a new, resurgent party that drew conservatives from all sides. MIGHT have a chance to become the second party.

I see no indication of any organizing effort that will accomplish that.

It might be a little early for that and I would suspect that if such a thing were to happen Newt would have a hand in it.
