Praying for both of you. I know firsthand the terrible strain you are under.
Be sure to eat.
When I arrived this morning at the hospital he was very hot and had a very high temperature but despite this was much more with it and his voice is slowly returning.
For the first time he started to ask questions about the op and his recovery. He has also started to cough if somewhat weakly.
He has now been transferred out of ITU as he no longer needs to the intensive treatment but really just building up and being strong enough to cough.
He is back on the main ward - praise God thanks for those who prayed for this and not a side ward. We did have one major breakdown in the system he was transferred down to the ward and although I heard ITU request a pump be available for his feed it took nearly 2 hours to get and hook him up. I lost it a bit I am afraid and the Staff Nurse in charge accused me of verbal abuse, I pointed up that I was not abusing her but overwrought and concerned as I had been advised his only chance is building his strength up and so being without nourishment for nearly 4 hours including disconnecting in ITU is not aiding his chances.
I finally left the ward at 10.00pm after all feeds and drips etc were connected.
All in all though there is an improvement but whether he can maintain or get there quick enough remains to be seen. Prayer has certainly got us this far though.
Love
Eleanor
