All American Teachers Should Be Fired Immediately
November 6, 2008 | aas

This post is about the Carl Cameron/Sarah Palin "Africa" controversy.

This is what we are being asking to believe by Carl Cameron:

BOTH of Palin's schoolteacher parents AND all her grade school teachers AND all her high school teachers AND all her college professors were unable to communicate to Sarah the simple fact that Africa is a continent, and that a number of countries compose the continent of Africa.

Furthermore, the "Africa is a continent" factoid and related "Name the African country" factoids come up in numerous parlor games, of which the game Trivial Pursuit is a culturally ubiquitous example. I could go on ad nauseum providing examples of this sort of common cultural experience thing relating to Africa and its countries.

Recapping, Palin stumbled to a governorship and, at 44 years of age, a vice-presidential nomination without learning a nearly universal basic educational factoid.

What we need to be thinking about is what kind of evil, lying scum would be pushing such tripe.

As for Carl Cameron, apparently it didn't cross his tiny little journalist mind to put a few moments thought into what sort of intellectual gyrations Palin would have had to go through to avoid assimilating such common knowledge.

In HIS case, he's merely incompetent.

If he continues to push the story as presented, then he becomes evil.

To get to my headline for this post, I offer the following:

Let's say for a moment that it's true.

BOTH of Palin's schoolteacher parents AND all her grade school teachers AND all her high school teachers AND all her college professors were unable to communicate to Sarah the simple fact that Africa is a continent, and that a number of countries compose the continent of Africa.

Why are we paying ANY tax dollars to support what is obviously a systemic failure of the American education system?

We could pay teen-agers minimum wage to accomplish the same task of babysitting a bunch of semi-literate children, without teaching them a blessed thing.

Think of the savings on your tax bills!

little carl is evil. it is insane for republicans to start pounding one of their own. McCains age and visable mind lapses did a lot to lose the election. Palen didn’t do it.

Gonna have to find it but just like the MSM attacks on Palin pre-election, this is a lie, misinformation attack on her post-election.

The problem started with a miss communication over the words “South Africa” (being the country) and “Southern Africa” being an area. One party said Southern and the other heard South or visa versa.

The problem was never if Palin knew that Africa was a continent.

Now we’re going to be hearing about Palin and Africa for the next week on the MSM including Foxnews while the Kenyan born President gets his first CIA intel briefings that he would never have the ability to see unless he was elected.

Screw Fox, screw the GOP, screw em all. They deserve it.

I would only agree that all social science and history teachers be fired. Social studies is a total waste of money. In fact half the classes in college are a waste of time and money. Liberal arts degrees are a waste and should be eliminated immediatly. The colleges are a wasteland of liberal BS.

Why be concerned with africa? (What have they ever contributed to the west other than being a drain?)

They have never wanted a solution from the west.

Every time there is a solution, they claim they need a African solution.

Want an african solution? Go to the grassroots. Get rid of the tribal chiefs and the zooie.... the voodoo king. Get rid of their suppression/oppression/ corrupt postures. Let them get educated. Until they give themselves their african solution, nothing else will work. All efforts will be in vain.

A variation of a favorite liberal urban myth.
Targeted Republicans are uneducated morons and then some outrageous anecdote is offered up ex. George Bush waving to a blind musician Stevie Wonder or Ray Charles.

I doubt it is true and the only reason I voted for McCain was because of his stellar running mate Palin.

I have trouble believing the daughter of a school teacher didn’t know Africa was a continent.

I have yet to see sufficient proof or a credible source. Our local conservative talk host claimed it was true today. I didn't feel like calling in and asking for his source.

It all sounds like an anonymous leak or outright lie at this point.

African Union

May take a few generations, but the chances are good that Africa will be a unified country or, at the very least, a union like the EU.

There will probably be a few holdouts.

Same here. I'll not be voting Republican again until I see the heads of all the McCain perps impaled on spikes around the Washington city walls.

I doubt it is true

The point of my post is to show what logical chain of assumptions is being made by the Palin bashers, and how the assumptions are entirely unsupportable.

In point of fact, to continue pushing the garbage after reading this is the act of an evil, despicable lying scumbag, and you should point this out to anyone who tries to sell this garbage within your earshot.

The Libs and the MSM (redundant, I know) saw how Palin invigorated the Conservative base and it terrified them. Now, we see a systematic attempt to destroy a person who energizes Conservatives. That is what this is all about.

The bitter McCain moderate staffers are just useful idiots.

Yes, there will be a union. More likely than not, a muslim union of dictators.

Where this exists, democracy, rights and freedoms will not exist

I didn't feel like calling in and asking for his source.I didn't feel like calling in and asking for his source.

Call in tomorrow and offer him the logic of this post, and ask him to defend the chain of assumptions I pointed out.

It can't be done.

Yes. I intend to put the smackdown on anyone who criticizes Palin within earshot of me.

I know some schoolteachers who would buy Cameron's crap, and gleefully repeat it.

I would tell them that I agree, and that it shows that pretty much ALL teachers are incompetents - including themselves.

Exactly - she's the daughter of TWO school teachers.

It's a vile and malignant lie.
