2out of my 3 sons do this to me all the time. They entrap me. I’m pretty sick of it. The oldest wanted to know how I felt about these elections. I said I didn’t want to talk about it. It was all come on mom, I want to know. He already knows I am a conservative, and he gets me everytime. Once we argue he says, “I’m done” he doesn’t want to talk politics anymore. I can’t believe he gets me everytime.
Write what you want to say. Tell them to talk about the issues on their side for a change. It is terrible when they spew ‘facts’ and you have to look them up. I just decided not to do it this time, to turn the tables on him.
Tell him you’ll agree to 3 or 4 exchanges, responses back and forth—PROVIDING
he gives evidence of actually considering and thinking about what you say. That otherwise, you’ll cut the exchanges off immediately.
. . . that you are not a candidate for being bait and switch badgered by your own son.
He won’t respect much what you say when you avoid insisting on him respecting you as a person.

I really think some kids use their liberalism as a very sneaky way to rebel against their parents. The leftists use this tendency in the young to great advantage.
Tell him you’re going to leave all your money to the government when you die. Good liberals don’t beleive in inheritance and you’ll be saving him a step.
