How early should I be to a Mccain Rally? (Vanity)

I am planning on going to a Mccain Rally in Ohio on Thursday. The doors open at 4pm. What time should I get there if I wanna get a good seat? Should I get there several hours in advance? I have never been to a rally and thought fellow freepers could give me some insight.

If Sarah is there, five hours early.

I showed up three hours early and could not even see the stage...in Minnesota.

Cheers!

We went to the McCain/Palin rally in Fairfax, VA. Because of parking constraints, they provided buses from a nearby shopping center. We waited in line there for an hour for the bus. Took only 10 minutes to get thru security and we were there an hour early.

There are a few complications that may vary from venue to venue. We were told at the bus line not to bring purses, chairs, signs or water bottles. The campaign provided water. So some people had to walk back to their cars to rid themselves of those items. When we got to the rally, others had purses and signs. Go figure. Others parked a walkable distance from the site, and that may have been the wiser choice, but traffic was pretty bad.

Be sure to wear a hat/cap .. some kind of head cover. If you want to be near the stage (assuming an outdoor event) you will have to stand in the sun (hopefully) for a long time. In my case, I can’t take the sun and found a tree on a hill that provided a fine view but more important, shade.

Have fun and DO let us know how it went for you.
