Personally, I think most people will see this as mud-slinging coming so late in the economic meltdown. If the Democrats were to blame, the Republicans should have said it at the beginning -- to say it now just makes it look like the Republicans are desperately trying to avoid the blame themselves.
Attacking the Democrats was the right thing to do -- but McCain held back too long.
Public perception will not be what we would like -- and it also works against the "reach across the aisle" concept that McCain and Palin like to promote.

It's called "setting the record straight." The Dems have been mud-slinging since the bailout was first broached. It is time for the Republicans to fight back, but whether they have the guts to do it is another story.
