Does the bill include fixing mark to market accounting?

This can be a very high-volume ping list at times.

This list is pinged by rabscuttle385 and AmericanInTokyo.

Take care to check the "mccainlist", "mccaintruthfile", "mcbama", "mcqueeg", and "mccain" keyword search links for related threads, since we can not possibly ping you to every relevant article that is posted. To flag a relevant thread, please add the keywords "mccainlist" and "mccaintruthfile".

Republican Commissar’s Warning: By joining this ping list, you may be subjected to the irrational rants and ramblings of McCainiacs, of "moderate" Republicans, of deeply confused conservatives resigned to voting for the lesser of two Democrats, and of countless trolls who simply want to meet a new overlord.

Per FR posting guidelines, we kindly ask that you be civil and polite in your comings and goings. Bonus points for being optimistic and in good cheer.

So what happened to our fundamentally sound economy of a week ago? That is going to be O’s theme. Guess we are all going to be eating those “patties”.

He's wrong. Palin is for it, too. But an Obama presidency would result in a slowdown of the economy, rescue or no rescue.

I don't know what I'm going to do now.

If DC would STOP promising a bail-out/ rescue, the credit market would free up of it’s own volition. So long as the banks think they will get money for nothing from DC, they would be foolish to do anything but wait.

More than anything in the world I want the government to give my tax dollars to people who make really, really bad financial choices and to the foreigners who helped them cause I know the congressmen and senators involved will get the money back... /s

Well, I’m against the orogianl bailout and see nothing drastically different with this bailout II. However, if the goal was to get Congress to pass this bill, McCain sure gave a better speech than Pelosi.

Dear Senator McCain,

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

Signed,

Well, I’m against the original bailout and see nothing compelling to make me support this new bailout. However, if McCain’s goal was to get Congress to pass this bill, he gave a more effective speech than Pelosi.

If it isn’t too late, his people need to put that green duck tape over his mouth until after elections.

McCain is so bungling this. He could hit for the trifecta if he announced that, while he wants a rescue bill, he can’t vote for this monstrosity because it doesn’t remove the underlying cause (CRA) and because of the hundreds of pages of unrelated spending that has been tacked on. Going on, he should call out some egregious examples and name names.

By doing this he’d be allying himself with

1. those who don’t want this bailout
2. those who could choke down a clean bill
3. those who became supporters because of his claim he would veto earmark laden bills and ‘name names’

There’d be a 10 pt swing in polls to his benefit immediately.

There’s no chance McCain sees this as a win-win because the White House said it will NOT back the bill with the Republican additions? Doesn’t matter if McCain says “yes” if the White House turns it down anyway.

If it’s good enough for John McCain, it’s good enough for me and should be good enough for the rest of you.

Is Johhny taking a dive? Maybe the house really is burning down economically and the mess will be left for Obama, who won’t have dime one for his plans but will be stuck with a fiasco, and I’m sure make it 110% worse. Based on the mess has Repub leadership decided it’s better to come back in 2012? That’s what it looks like anyway.

I am done with McCain. He just sold out America and destroyed his chances of winning at the same time.

I think I will write in Thaddeus McCotter.
