Well, I’m against the original bailout and see nothing compelling to make me support this new bailout. However, if McCain’s goal was to get Congress to pass this bill, he gave a more effective speech than Pelosi.

The next president of the United States...

McCain has fallen for the biggest Rope-A-Dope in election history.

In our five person office McCain looses 5 votes on election day if he votes yes for this BS bill.

The minute his vote is official the ads pointing to his complete hypocrisy will hit the air and there is no possible way to refute them.

To say nothing of the news stories that will come out saying exactly that. The various alphabet news channels will have a field day. McCain needs to stop thinking as a legislator and more like an executive. But then, his entire Washington experience is as a legislator.

"The McCain Campaign needs to frequent Free Republic. Do they want to lose?"

Sure looks that way to me. Not only that, but it looks like he is trying to destroy the Republican party in the process. He has managed to negate most of the bounce from Palin.

If it isn’t too late, his people need to put that green duck tape over his mouth until after elections.

McCain is so bungling this. He could hit for the trifecta if he announced that, while he wants a rescue bill, he can’t vote for this monstrosity because it doesn’t remove the underlying cause (CRA) and because of the hundreds of pages of unrelated spending that has been tacked on. Going on, he should call out some egregious examples and name names.

By doing this he’d be allying himself with

1. those who don’t want this bailout
2. those who could choke down a clean bill
3. those who became supporters because of his claim he would veto earmark laden bills and ‘name names’

There’d be a 10 pt swing in polls to his benefit immediately.

There’s no chance McCain sees this as a win-win because the White House said it will NOT back the bill with the Republican additions? Doesn’t matter if McCain says “yes” if the White House turns it down anyway.

Get ready to hear “John McCain was against earmarks before he was for them!”. He is walking arrogantly right into their trap and he is a fool if he doesn’t know that this is going to bury him. Unless you are Joe Bidden, you cannot say one thing one week and then vote the exact opposite way the next week and not get slaughtered for it.

Check out the cr@p in this bill.

Anyone supporting it should be thrown in jail, IMO.

The worst part is that he will take Palin out with him. I addressed this after she was picked but kept getting shot down with “She will be different. She will hold him accountable. She's not going to let him get away with it.” I hope to be proved wrong tomorrow night. Unfortunately, McCain's the boss and he's dancing to his own tune. Damn the torpedoes...

If it’s good enough for John McCain, it’s good enough for me and should be good enough for the rest of you.

Is Johhny taking a dive? Maybe the house really is burning down economically and the mess will be left for Obama, who won’t have dime one for his plans but will be stuck with a fiasco, and I’m sure make it 110% worse. Based on the mess has Repub leadership decided it’s better to come back in 2012? That’s what it looks like anyway.

I see you are still here spreading your anti-McCain spam in the hopes of getting your messiah Obama elected.

I am done with McCain. He just sold out America and destroyed his chances of winning at the same time.

I think I will write in Thaddeus McCotter.

The moment McCain seems to get conservative support (through Palin pick) it is when he decides to shoot himself in the foot. He and Obama are on the same side. That should tell you something right there. What an idiot!

Ummm. What happened to the candidate who promised to VETO any bill that came across his desk that was full of earmarks and pork?

This bill certainly qualifies as such.
