You can add Ayers and Dohrn to the coincidentals: they lived in the Columbia U. area during the years Obama was in NYC ('81-'85).
Dohrn served time in Manahattan federal jail in '83 for refusal to testify about her connection to the '81 Brinks robbery. Ayers got his MA from the Bank Street School of Ed., in the same neighborhood as Columbia, in '84. Dohrn got a job with Sidley & Austin's NY Office in '84. (Obama met Michelle in Sidley's Chicago office in '89). Dohrn (who never got admitted to the bar due to her record) worked in the Chicago office in 1988, after she and Ayers returned to Chicago, and probably met Michelle there.
