To: Fred Nerks

Looking at the pictures you posted I would have to agree with you that the “Stanley” in the “grad” picture is too young for 1971. But maybe we are wrong and he isn’t Stanley. However just as I was falling asleep last night I had a thought about something else that really caught my attention in that picture. The person right behind Sr. is flashing the “peace” sign. Was there any reason someone would do this in 1961? They would definitely do it in 1971.

Another thing I thought of about Ann and why she isn’t in the picture is that she could be the one who is taking the picture.

The “Peace” sign was and still is a sign Japanese people throw up when they are mugging for the camera in a funny picture.

I believe they have been doing so since the end of WWII and our troops have something to do with it....

Yes, the Direct Action Network adopted the peace sign in the late 50s early 60s.

Interesting too. I’ve found connections prior with Obama and the Direct Action Network.
