I think you're misinterpreting the text around that picture as indication that it's a 'wedding' picture. It's probably the only one available showing the two of them together with no one else in the picture and is therefore the one used when talking about the two of them marrying.

I saw Spunky’s follow ups. I believe the representation is correct due to the pictures of Obama junior with the Christmas tree.
