There is nothing in the Obama File that verifies 1972 is the correct date:
When the Soetoros divorced, Anna took Obama to live with her parents, the Dunhams, in Honolulu. Anna and Obama’s half-sister, Maya, returned to Indonesia.
In 1972, the Dunhams enrolled Barry Soetoro in the prestigious Punahou School, where he made friends quickly and told his classmates that his father was an African prince, the leader of a proud and successful people.
Those links confirm a school link and discussion as to whether Obama was an ‘angry teen’.
I think Maya would remember 1973. That is a significant life change.
Maya was born in 1968. She would have been 4 or 5 in 1972.
Cut her some slack.
