The only reason I have been on this fig thing is because my wife mentioned she used to eat them fresh off the tree when she was a little girl growing up in Shreveport, La. And I remember eating them the same way as a little kid when I lived in California. Then the last couple years my Aunt would give us a couple of her canned jars of fig jam. Good stuff!
I have no idea what I am doing with fig trees, other than I hope to get at least two figs off of them so my wife and I can taste them fresh again! Crazy?

Not crazy at all!
As a teenager I spent my summers in Sarasota, FL. My grandparents’ nextdoor neighbor had a fig tree by the side of the house that faced our lanai. We were welcome to those figs whenever we wanted them. They loved the tree itself, but didn’t care for figs.
My grandparents are now gone, but my Aunt still lives there. I will have to ask her if the fig tree is still there.

Figs bring a good price at the local Farmers Markets. If you get enough you could trade them for honey or ? I spent 4 hours at the Church today putting down drip lines in the new flower bed until I ran out of main line. My order came by UPS late this afternoon so I will finish that job and then come home finish the drip on our new landscaping.
My wife mowed the lawn grass weeds here today plus she weeded here roses and will put down weed and feed tomorrow on the lawn. I need to find time to make compost with the clippings because I won't be using the treated grass for compost for several cuttings. I must also set traps for a couple of Moles messing up the lawn and orchard.
SO MUCH TO DO...SO LITTLE TIME is the gardeners lament
