Afternoon! 40’s and drizzly; I turned up the thermostat so Anoreth would stop whining. It was 67 in dining room, and it’s not my fault she insists on hiding in her room!
I had an email from my mother yesterday. She said Dad recognized only a few people in some pictures they had from their recent trip to Missouri. She said he even thought his own picture was actually his father! (Although maybe he just doesn’t think he looks so old :-).
Not very encouraging, all things considered. We’ll see them both in May at the beach, if nothing disastrous happens between now and then. I wish we lived somewhere closer to Florida!
When I get too cold, I go crawl between flannel sheets and turn my electric mattress pad up to 4. After about an hour, I can get up without shivering!
It’s always hard to see a parent go through things like Alzheimer’s. Although they may not realize they’ve lost part of who they are, we do, and that sense of loss is often very great, even though our parents are still with us.
I have a friend whose mother has Alzheimer’s, and I think the mother doesn’t realize her memory is going. My friend cares for her, but she (friend) gets VERY tired of the constant stress.
I’ll keep you and your parents in my prayers. {{{TC}}}
