A new study by scientists has suggested that zombie attacks might increase if the current projections of global warming are realized. If the earth gets warmer, it means longer springs, summers, and falls, and shorter winters, said John Carpenter-Romero, Ph.D., a zombie-ologist who co-authored the study. And shorter winters means more time for the undead to prey on the populace.
Dr. Harrister, the other co-author, and head of Zombie Robotics at Wayward Robot, Inc., explained that cold winters typically stalled the walking dead. It is well known that zombies cant operate in cold weather. It freezes their brains.
The pair calculated a 32.782412% increase in zombie attacks if CO2 increased to twice its pre-industrial rate. Clearly, this is a very troubling result, said Dr. Harrister, If we dont do something soon, the streets will be filled with blood.

We have scads of Spanish-speaking people in the area, and most of them are (at least nominally) Catholic. Spanish-language services and outreach are a growth area for most of the local churches!
My husband, son, and I do the music for the Spanish service at our church. I think we had 125 people today (and that was with most of my children staying home :-), and it’s more every week. We need to plan ahead (and coordinate with the parish music director) for what we want to do during the next couple of months.

We don’t get the good commercials up here, just the cheaper Canadian versions.

One of the advantages of cable is that you sometimes get commercials from furniture stores or whatever that are three states away.
No matter how good their prices are, you aren’t going to buy from them.
You’re innoculated.
Besides, to be really affected by a commercial, you have to have money to spend.
I’m innoculated.

Furniture stores don’t advertise on TV during the super bowl here.
They couldn’t afford it.
The ads are from national/multi-national companies only.

Off-topic for the UT, but thought this graphic on another thread was funny (on break from the SouperBowl):

Somebody ought to film a commercial for a company in another star system ...
"Buy Arcturan Anti-Gravity Generators for a smoo-oo-ooth flight!"
"AAGG! -- Woot!"
"Now back to your regular program, Dirtlings."
.
.
*That's Earthlings!*
.
"Sorry, Clod."

Yah, well, if I HAD to choose between the two, it would definitely be the Bro. The Ho’ is more like a prostie. She sells herself to the lowest bidder.

I love the Church, and I love Spanish. (My husband tolerates the language, but he loves the music for guitar :-). This is a great opportunity for us all to be useful to our congregation.

Yah...that’s why I don’t live IN Las Vegas. Where I live, the most “exciting” thing on a daily basis is the train that stops here for whatever reason. It rumbles for 20-30 minutes before it moves on.
Works for me. I don’t have to worry about break-ins or muggings in my area. We’re so far out of the masinstream that most folks ignore us. Why drive all this way when there is more to be had closer in?
