A new study by scientists has suggested that zombie attacks might increase if the current projections of global warming are realized. If the earth gets warmer, it means longer springs, summers, and falls, and shorter winters, said John Carpenter-Romero, Ph.D., a zombie-ologist who co-authored the study. And shorter winters means more time for the undead to prey on the populace.
Dr. Harrister, the other co-author, and head of Zombie Robotics at Wayward Robot, Inc., explained that cold winters typically stalled the walking dead. It is well known that zombies cant operate in cold weather. It freezes their brains.
The pair calculated a 32.782412% increase in zombie attacks if CO2 increased to twice its pre-industrial rate. Clearly, this is a very troubling result, said Dr. Harrister, If we dont do something soon, the streets will be filled with blood.

I might live in Minnesota, if that meant we could go out without kids!

That was only one reason, among many. But yeah, being able to reconnect as a couple is definitely a "perk".
Now if we can just get the legislature to NOT continue to increase our taxes during a frickin' recession...

We hope to go away for a weekend for our 20th anniversary next year, but we’ll probably have to strew the kids all over the state!
Did you know it’s NicknamedBob’s BIRTHDAY?

Happy Birthday, Bob! Have a Guinness! It's especially good for people who are a day older than they were yesterday :-)

New unit?> Yup. The four year old Motorola V300 was developing a problem where the receiver audio sometimes cut out or dropped to near inaudible. Couple that with a dying battery and it was time for a change.
I had been looking at the T-Mobile Dash, but some reviews indicated it was rather less than ideal. The store sales clerk showed me the T-Mobile Shadow, which is pretty much a dataphone in a mobile form factor, and thin enough to be carried in a pocket. It looks like it'll replace my PDA also -- one less device to carry.
BTW: I owe you Thanks for the Kubuntu LiveCD tip. I downloaded Gutsy to a DVD+R, and am posting to you using Konqueror. So far; so good.
Great! I really like Kubuntu, though I usually go online with Firefox.

Happy Birthday, Bob!
You and my laptop share a "birthday" -- it's one year old today (as I discovered when I called the Help Desk to report that the faceplate for the CD/DVD drive had fallen off...).

Closing on our new house this AM. 10 CST. Got the word at 4:30PM last night that the finance package was finally approved by the VA. The bank had to have a processor come in early this AM to get the package ready and there may even be a delay of the signing by an hour or so if they can't get things over to the closing attorney in time.
I just can't wait until all this BS is done. This has been an ordeal that I thought should have ended back before the New Year.
