I’ve learned to moderate myself, since too much sugar makes me go crazy.

Yep...I did that, too. I solved my problem by using a bigger spoon... ;o]

If I got sick every time I played in the rain, I’d be dead by now. In the desert, rain is rare.

As for getting sick “as a result,” it may have been something you were coming down with, anyway.

One can’t stay out of the rain when one has to work for a living.

I started reading the HP books again. Maybe, if my timing is right, I can get done with #6 about the time I can afford to get #7!

I keep forgetting how good the story is!

I just make arun for it when it rains, and around here it does quite often.

Which is exactly why I live HERE and not THERE!
I have a sister in FL...I will never visit her.

I pulled the David Webber "Honor Harrington" series off the shelves. I have gotten through "On Basilisk Station" and "The Honor of the Queen" and "The Short Victorious War" is sitting beside the bed waiting.

I love books that you can reread and marvel anew at the storytellers genius.

I’ve read LOTR every year since I first read it in 1969. I never get tired of it.
I suspect HP will be like that.
My problem is that there are few book series that I’ve heard about that are “good.” I’m sure I’m missing something, here.
I’ve never read the Chronicles Of Narnia...mostly because I’ve never heard anyone talk about them.
As for the “Honor Harrington” series...I’m in the dark.

Not often. She is often working and I’m mostly not, but I can’t deal with that much humidity. My lungs don’t like it.

I’m just curious as to whether you think my books are a “series”.

I tend to think of them that way. Book one and its sequel, then a related story and its sequel.

What I’m working on now has no connection to the previous lines.

I consider your books as a “story.” If that falls into the “series” category, then I suspect they are a series. And as far as I’m concerned, you can write as many books in the “series” as you want! I don’t get tired of the characters. Which, to me, is essential.

Keep going!

Futuristic military books. Kind of rare to find a male author who has chosen to create a female hero that works but Webber pulls it off nicely.

You are in good company on the CoN series. Hubbie did not know that there was more then one book until I told him. "Til We Have Faces" is my favorite of Lewis's books and I have a lot of them.

Wow. I like futuristic military stuff.
I’ll have to check Amazon, because if they are good books, I won’t want them to go back to the lie-berry!

"Keep going!"

Oh, lord!

That story has been told and retold! Where could I possibly go from there except into a Heinleinian folded space where characters from disparate stories meet and conflict?

.

Or meet and go on another adventure?

I like to compare LOTR to walking through a beautiful cathedral. The language is so exquisite that I just sit with my mouth open, dribbling.

Let me see if that is one of those that we had duplicates of.

Oddly enough in music while our tastes were similar we didn't have many of the same CD's. But we had a lot of the same books.

Exactly!
I always read “something new,” even though I can quote parts of it verbatim.
It’s like something that is so beautifully sculpted that it has warmth and light and life, and anyone who touches it, even for a moment, is forever enchanted by it.
