Fair Use under copyright law allows it, as it allows snippets of published copyright work to be published here. Ok. I'm not a lawyer and didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so I don't pretend to understand Fair Use beyond the fact that it does protect FR.

I understand what you are saying. To my knowledge Fair Use gains a footing when the piece in question is used for non-commercial purposes and/or education and public discussion. I used to believe as you, however, I don't believe it protects FR or even the members that post here.
