That's the question Bobby Schindler asked in the case involving Jesse Ramirez, the Arizona man whose case paralleled that of Schindler's sister, Terri Schiavo, until Ramirez woke up. The Arizona Republic reports:
...Bobby Schindler of the Florida-based Terri Schindler Shiavo Foundation placed the blame on a medical establishment quick to dismiss patients with brain injuries. Why is Jesse alive? His family sought legal intervention with the help of the Alliance Defense Fund:
Schindler is the brother of Terri Schiavo, a brain-damaged Florida woman who died in 2005 after a decades-long court battle.
"What is the rush?" he asked. "This is not the first time we've heard of cases like this where doctors want to write off the chance of recovery, and the family, when they're told this, will make a decision to end a person's life.
"In the case of Mr. Ramirez, he'd be dead now."
His siblings and parents refused to give him up for dead, and today, Jesse Ramirez is alive and conscious.
Two weeks ago, he was the center of a family battling over of whether he should live or die.
Now, he can hug and kiss, nod his head, answer yes and no questions, give a thumbs-up sign and sit in a chair.

When someone has already decided what they want the outcome to be, it's not very difficult to work backwards through the evidence to reach that conclusion.
As can be expected he will be pushed back as far as the elites and RINO's can push. May Our Lord give him the strength to push back, and through.

Yes. That is exactly how the case played out, year after year, with literally every ruling flowing from the original prejudice. This is precisely what judges are not supposed to do -- prejudge a case and shape the finding of facts to their own subjective view.
The Schindlers' attorney, Pat Anderson, fought like a fury and with consummate skill, but she was up against a totally stacked deck. All she could do was embarrass Greer, Felos and Bushnell. Pat Anderson is the one who deserved bar association awards afterward for upholding and burnishing the highest legal standards.
Well said. Our visitors inevitably share an idée fixe that they alone command the truth -- which is megalomania. No real scientist or philosopher would assert that truth is so convenient and easily ascertained. Then the visitors state or imply in every other post that all who oppose them ("terribots") are either liars, prisoners of false belief or terribly stupid. These accusations, direct or muted, frame all of their rhetoric. This indeed is how they skip, gloss over or fudge factual argument -- by substituting ad hominem claptrap. They call somebody a liar and claim it refutes anything the person says. Sorry, visitors, the only way to get to the truth is rhetoric-free investigation: the fearless sifting and winnowing of every pertinent fact and detail in fair-minded discussion.
That's just the mental picture I get if I accidentally catch a minute of National Public Radio when I'm scanning the radio dial. A bunch of weirdos from the Strangling Fig Tribe who talk through their nostrils.
Stepchildren Of Slain Attorney Charged In Shooting
SAN DIEGO -- A young man and his 17-year-old sister were charged with murder Friday in connection with the shooting death of their stepfather, who was killed during an apparent attempted robbery at his Rolando-area home.~snip~
The special circumstance opens the door for a possible death penalty for Gann ...
I wonder if he'll find his own execution as hilarious as he found Terri's.
I'd call it 50-50 that he murdered his mother too, versus 50-50 that she committed suicide in contrition for giving birth to this creep. Reminds me a little of "Rosemary's Baby."
Dr. Broun's election bucks the alleged trend away from conservatism. We have watched the other side seize the Terri "intervention" as the reason for Republicans getting drubbed. The other side includes the Democratic National Committee, the angry Left, Al Jazeera and a few strange libertarians.
Their claim is silly. Normal people cheer when the law gets there in time to save a life. Only freakazoids make an issue of Terri's "sacred right" to die a torturous death by dehydration. There aren't THAT many freakazoids who vote. Besides, the Republicans suffered only normal mid-term losses. They didn't get drubbed.
If there was any Republican "issue" here, it's the opposite of the one the Left is peddling. The Republicans caved in and didn't save Terri. I do believe Jeb Bush wrecked his whole political future when he got weak-kneed on Terri. (At least I wouldn't vote for him after he showed he didn't have the guts to fight.)
Having said all this, I wonder where Dr. Broun stands on the Terri issue.
Hey, Doctor Broun, if you're listening, drop in, say hello and give us your take.
P.S. Congratulations!
He was also the Darwin type. Btw, he didn't do anything more than our standard anti-Terri/pro Michael characters that we had around here. Maybe law enforcement should take at those nitwits too? They might find some leeds on some other unsolved crimes.
should take (a look) at those nitwits too.
From a 20-year-old, that's arrogant enough. From an accused murderer, it's bizarre. I wonder how the numerous deathbots we've met here can stand having to rub shoulders with slime like Gann.
Or with each other.
For that matter, I wonder how Gann can stand having to rub shoulders with other deathbot slimes.
You never know. Gann could of learned it right here. Obviously he thought it was cute being a freak.
That sounds much more like their cover story than the truth. It makes no sense. MacNeil had to know it was his own stepchildren holding a gun on him. They couldn't let him live even if he had opened the safe -- he could have identified them. So, look for some other motive. It smells like a planned hit to me, with the two kids playing agreed roles.
Possible. We've had enough "teachers." But then, there was and is a whole juvenile subculture who spread this stuff around like flu germs. It's in the air. It's in the airwaves. It flies straight into little heads full of mush.
Yeap, and his stepfather was an attorney, too.
Aw, now, that's usually not a good enough reason to shoot the guy.
My FatherOk technically I am an orphan, although my parents are still alive, well I know my father is. He wants to come to see me for graduation. I don't know... But he is coming, I am going to pick him up at the airport and such. He wanted to bring his wheelchair, and I had to tell him no.
It's quite a rant. Beware foul language. He goes on and on about what he'll do to the wheelchair if his father dares bring it. Because he "can't stand the [redacted] wheel chair" And if his father wants to smoke, he has to leave the house, by himself, with no wheelchair.
I saw another interesting entry in his blog. He went stag to his senior prom, wearing a Star Trek uniform. LOL.
Still, nothing that would have indicated he would kill his step-father. I would have expected him to kill his disabled biological father.
I came across a link to Nathaniel Gann’s Microsoft Live page. His blog is creepy. http://twnaru.spaces.live.com/default.aspx?_c01_MemberProfileTile=showdefault&_c=MemberProfileTile
Completely illiterate. Lost in his own mad fantasies. But don't forget, he's going to entertain and educate the world.
It takes a special breed to despise a blameless disabled woman like Terri and to cheer when she is tortured to death. Gann was certainly one of the breed!
Maybe as a mercy killing. His biological father couldn't have had anything to steal. Killing the lawyer-stepfather probably had a quite different motive having to do with money and/or hatred. We have to figure out what got to his mother (if, indeed, it was suicide). He seemed to hate her.
