What's the Rush?

That's the question Bobby Schindler asked in the case involving Jesse Ramirez, the Arizona man whose case paralleled that of Schindler's sister, Terri Schiavo, until Ramirez woke up. The Arizona Republic reports:

...Bobby Schindler of the Florida-based Terri Schindler Shiavo Foundation placed the blame on a medical establishment quick to dismiss patients with brain injuries.

Schindler is the brother of Terri Schiavo, a brain-damaged Florida woman who died in 2005 after a decades-long court battle.

"What is the rush?" he asked. "This is not the first time we've heard of cases like this where doctors want to write off the chance of recovery, and the family, when they're told this, will make a decision to end a person's life.

"In the case of Mr. Ramirez, he'd be dead now."

Why is Jesse alive? His family sought legal intervention with the help of the Alliance Defense Fund:
His siblings and parents refused to give him up for dead, and today, Jesse Ramirez is alive and conscious.

Two weeks ago, he was the center of a family battling over of whether he should live or die.

Now, he can hug and kiss, nod his head, answer yes and no questions, give a thumbs-up sign and sit in a chair.

People and animals being abused, neglected and/or murdered -that's here. Then there's radical islam and our courageous military kicking aq's butt. I agree that this country is not what it used to be but glad that we stopped the illegal immigration bill. Unfortunately, the bad guys are still crossing the borders.

Believe me, I don't want Hilary in the white house. Then we'll be buying gas masks, lose tax cuts and also paying for socialized medicine where doctors go to jail if they treat someone not on their sheet. It would be good for Bubba though. He'd have his old party digs back.

There are polls saying pro-life is ahead of pro-choice now. So, at least there's some good news.

The justice system and the mega-medical corporations are killing lots of people. Having a living will gives them free reign, can be altered or a chart can be noted "living will" and patients unwittingly sign their own lives away.

Will to Live is "safer" than a Living Will which is code for go ahead, neglect me and make mistakes and I'm okay with it.

And, bad hospices love death as much as al quaeda. The guy mentioned by 8mmmauser today is w/LifePath Hospice. The St. Pete Times failed to mention that Terri was held hostage and killed at Hospice Woodside, Hospice of the Suncoast, Pinellas.

The old duffer will have a better experience than Terri did. Natural death is what it is. Murder is what bad hospices do with judges and lawyers' blessings. If people would realize that you just don't put people down like they put down dogs at the pound! That is what is happening. People are putting down their loved ones like dogs. That is a sign of the end of a civilization.

So,the old duffer has a private pact with God? Well, it's no secret now being that it was in today's paper. Does duffer know what natural death is cuz Terri certainly would still be here if she had civil rights affording her life and liberty.

What is going on is that Terri Schiavo is in the media again. Even the MSM cannot let go of her.

Today’s pollster from Alabama appeared to be working for Maxx Linn (he ran for gov). The lady did ask a Terri question and I defended Congressman Young for voting for Terri but blasted the prez for cancelling her helicopter ride out of the state. I think Max Linn is exploring running againsg Congressman Young. Linn would have killed Terri and said as much in a local debate.

Remember that one columnist at the Times who did one column wherein she complemented Terri’s supporters? She was fired right after that article. What happens sometimes is that people who are on the other side get to know us and are befriended. So,she lost her column. Mary Malone was it? Maybe new blood at the Times is bringing their viewpoint although not exactly in big storage pods.

At least you don’t pay Greer’s salary and pension. I’d rather be paying for his cell at a max security prison. He’s more dangerous than a common thief.

Greer didn't have to fabricate anything. He as spoonfed by George Felos and Debra Bushnell. It was quite easy for him to just stick to their plan and collect all those awards for his courage for killing Terri. (awards from scientology's attorney, the ACLU, some bar assns).

Maybe not so good to move to Florida cuz remember the Fla Guardian Assn. named Mikey Schiavo the guardian of the year? I guess a kill deserves high honors from fellow guardians. IF YOU NEED A GUARDIAN, DO NOT COME TO FLORIDA. They may just do you in after they take your dough so they can be so honored.

I posted this before, but here goes again:

A “Will to Live” is better than a “Living Will” and can be downloaded to be used, or just used as an example, from www.nrlc.org.

Always make sure you know what you’re getting into with a “living will.” For instance, if you say: “I don’t want to be on a respirator,” it could mean one thing if it would only prolong an imminent death for months or years, and another thing if it would only be needed for 48 or more hours after an accident, and one could be restored to normal health.

A Will to Live won't force someone out.

A Living Will is designed to make people think it is their duty to go if they are sick or old. There is NO DUTY to die. We go when it is our time to go.

Terri's suffering and murder has not been forgotten. She had no paperwork cuz she was young when she was strangled or hit from behind. She got an 80 dollar hairdo and it went downhill from there. Maybe Terri told him that night she was lvg him and then this horrible injury happens to her. She was not bulimic. That was what I like to call A LARRY KING LIE (one of many).

No, I'm not familiar with the case. It really stinks that a reporter can't say something decent without getting fired for her kindness. Hope she got a better job at some other paper that didn't have such prejudices.

True enough, but it was fabrication anyway. Greer "found" all the facts they wanted and ruled out anything that didn't fit the mold. The picture that came out of it was one-sided and untrue. In the last step, in effect they forged a suicide wish by Terri using pathetic hearsay and lies. Then they killed her with it.

Liberals: Their father is the father of lies. Their best lies are woven around a core of some truth, and twist like a strangling fig so they take the shape of the truth itself. The wrapping is their own hate projected as if it were a trait of their target.

In this case their target, including me personally, includes the perposterous notion that the large number of Catholics, in tandem with those of other faiths, protestant and jew alike who fought on behalf of Terri were the haters. In odd logic, then we may suppose those who lusted after Terri's death were not the haters. As obvious as this sounds, with the aid of their father of lies, they spin something sounding almost plausible to the casual reader.

................................

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which identifies and monitors racist hate groups in the United States, has named 844 active hate groups in the United States with 12 hate groups identified in Wisconsin. One such group, the “Christian Identity” movement, believe whites are the chosen people, Jews are the essence of evil and non-whites are soulless “mud people.”

Recent letter writer Fred Ainslie, of Sparta, Wis., stated that no one in the pro-life cause “would ever endorse Christian Identity.”

However, the facts would refute this claim. Christopher Ferrara, who was the lawyer

for the family of Terri Schiavo, the brain-damaged Florida woman whose feeding tube was removed in 2005 after a court battle, also writes for anti-semitic journals like the Remnant.

Ferrara recently stated that Pope Benedict XVI had “abased himself by entering a synagogue.” He also works with Robert Sungenis, a violent

anti-semite, who staffs the “Apologetics Desk” at Ferraro’s legal organization.

The Southern Poverty Law Center lists as other Catholic extremists Mel Gibson and

his father, Hutton Gibson, a known Holocaust denier who believes “a Masonic plot back-ed by the Jews” led to the Sec-ond Vatican Council reforms of the 1960s. Hutton Gibson is

especially angry over the council’s declaration, “Nostro Aetate,” which condemns

“all hatreds, persecutions and displays of anti-semitism leveled at any time

or from any source against the Jews.”

A three-year investigation by the Southern Poverty Law Center has determined the Catholic extremists, including Mel and Hutton Gibson, Christopher Ferrara and as many as 100,000 like minded individuals, may represent the largest population of

anti-semites in the United States.

Similar to the point in the post above, a critic peeks at the lie wrapping by another liberal of the same cloth. Once again, they just can't avoid invoking Terri, the stain on their soul they cannot wash off.

Social conservatives annoy the author so much he can't even decide what to call them: Theo-cons, theocrats, Holy-Rollers, Bible-wingers, True Believers, Moral Majoritarians or Christian Coalitionists. Pro-life activists who reject Roe v. Wade are compared to segregationists who refused to accept Brown v. Board of Education, reaching "their Wallace-like nadir" in the Terri Schiavo affair. (No word on how religiously influenced civil-rights groups like the Southern Christian Leadership Conference affect this narrative.)

Gold's contempt for the religious right sometimes leads him to make careless errors. Ronald Reagan made his famous "I know you can't endorse me, but I endorse you" proclamation at the Religious Roundtable's National Affairs Briefing, not in front of the Moral Majority, as Gold claims. Reagan Interior Secretary James Watt did not actually say that "[a]fter every tree is felled, Christ will come back." Gold warns conservatives not to emulate the political ethics of Bill Moyers, but the liberal journalist apologized for his use of the apocryphal quote while Gold repeats a version of it in his book

Here is a thread on a liberal solution, posted by liberallarry and pinged to us by TheSarce.

The new head of the Science Museum has an uncompromising view about how global warming should be dealt with: get rid of a few billion people. Chris Rapley, who takes up his post on September 1, is not afraid of offending. 'I am not advocating genocide,' said Rapley. 'What I am saying is that if we invest in ways to reduce the birthrate - by improving contraception, education and healthcare - we will stop the world's population reaching its current estimated limit of between eight and 10 billion. That in turn will mean less carbon dioxide is being pumped into the atmosphere because there will be fewer people to drive cars and use electricity. The crucial point is that to achieve this goal you would only have to spend a fraction of the money that will be needed to bring about technological fixes, new nuclear power plants or renewable energy plants. However, everyone has decided, quietly, to ignore the issue.'

SO many babies with DS are aborted, at least 90% of those prenatally diagnosed. Much of that stems from the fear of the unknown. If our kids had a public face, they would have a fighting chance to be seen as beautiful, unique people to treasure. Could you please help us? I dont think there are any other contestants literally fighting to be given the chance to live. We need about 3000 votes in order to make it. We need your help. Many of the babies killed by partial birth abortion are babies just like my daughter, Ciarra. We have the opportunity to show the world that she is a beautiful, vibrant, wonderful addition to society. Please help us get the word out?

Thread from wagglebee.

In the days before Texas had nearly 19,000 abused, abandoned and neglected children on its foster care rolls, the church often helped take care of orphans.

Now, some conservative Christians say an intense focus on hot-button issues like abortion and gay marriage has come at the expense of caring for needy children. And they're doing something about it.

How does this juxtapose with my earlier post this morning, #395?

ROME, JULY 20, 2007 (Zenit.org).- The vocation of the Catholic physician consists in transmitting Christ's healing love to patients as a good Samaritan, says Cardinal Javier Lozano Barragán.

The president of the Pontifical Council for Health Care Ministry said this in an in-depth analysis published by the World Federation of the Catholic Medical Associations.

Being a Catholic physician "involves proximity and a special intimacy with God, and at the same time represents an opening-up and being a complete gift to others," Cardinal Lozano Barragán said.
