Unfortunately, many of our official policies for the military were developed along the so-called ‘just war’ doctrine. The goal of war is to win. The rule of the soldier is to stay alive. In the course of these two, people will get killed and things will get broken.
The rules of polite bridge society and political correctness do not win wars.
As another has posted in this thread, it is not a discussion I enter into willingly. The line between survival and death, is distinct. The line between what is right and what is necessary, gets blurred.

They will not linger under the cloud of allegations any longer. I find that a little too pat. It's a bit disingenuous to suggest that these Marines will walk away as if nothing ever happened and everything is now just hunky-dory. I had points to make, but they are too long and too dark. I won't post them.
