Check it out. United America: 2014, by Ben Maxwell, is now available on-line at both Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com.

Permit me to say that I would rather order from Amazon than Barnes & Noble. IMHO, Amazon is politically balanced, whereas B&N is far to the left and discriminates against conservative books.
Collect all the screen names in a small text file. Start a thread in something other than current events or breaking news and ping by pasting the text file into 'to:' Whoever keeps the ping list is the owner. Title could be 'Writers' Forum (Vanity)' or whatever seems appropriate.
$25 clams for a paperback? Who's the publisher---Rolls-Royce?
Can someone post all the contents here so I don't have to go buy it? :)
What in the World are you doing!? That's my book!!! Now pay me my $73,000,000 in royalties forthwith sir!
Lighten up, Francis.
"Congratulations! I just ordered it with one-click and look forward to reading it.
There were some of us including GOPpoet who were thinking of starting a writer's thread here on FR. There's a horse thread, a football thread, a Hobbit Hole thread, so why not a thread for us writers?
And mainly sticking to fiction otherwise the discussion tends toward politicsa iinstead of the craft of writing.
Okay Eleutheria5, YOU start the thread."
On it. Could use some help from someone who knows how to do HTTP and other techy stuff, though. Tried to learn, but drat that right hemisphere dominance we creative folks have. I've actually been running a board on the aol writers' club since 1996 called Conservative Writers' Club. Mostly it simply fights flame wars with liberal writers, though, and all the conservative contributors, including me, burn out. It'd be great to get away from that and just swap ideas with people who DON'T wish every one of us a flaming death.
Even if I were interested in the subject -- I wouldn't buy your book if it were free.
Shamless Plug B U M P
Congrats!
I recently bought a paperback for $40. That is a little steep since I rarely go over $25 unless it's a tech book, but in this case it seemed the author had some good info not available anywhere else.
Let's go for #1 Amazon/NYT...
Havin' a bad day, are ya? Hope it gets better. :)
A writers thread? I'm up for that. I'm re-writing my novel novel in hopes of getting published.
Someone on here mentioned starting a writer's thread - I'd be interested in taking part...
Congratulations! bttt
What's up with that?
"So, your idea
is to abuse our site with
dumb commercials"
Here's a news flash: 1. You don't own this site. 2. I don't post any "dumb commercial" and I certainly didn't abuse it. But claiming freep as your personal possession is a form of abuse, IMHO. I'll share good news with my friends here and elsewhere anytime I please, thank you very much.
"you can't be bothered
with learning how to put up a simple hot link?"
No, I can't bother others with my feeble attempts at learning things like that. I know ancient Greek and Aramaic, speak Yiddish and Hebrew just fine, and can even manage Arabic. But everytime I think I've mastered some IT hocus pocus, I make a hash of it.
I thought my post spoke for itself -- would you like me to draw a picture?

First of all, I put a hot link in for the book . . . Second, if I want to be short tempered in a VANITY, just DEAL! I am just pissed off at Free Republic for that damn ANS thread, all the VANITIES, all the one line posts, and all the posts from people who couldn't get through an Ayn Rand novel if their AOL account read it out to them . . . |
