World Terrorism: News, History and Research Of A Changing World #6 Disinformation, Inc.
Global Politician/Ocnus.Net ^ | Dec 17, 2006 | Professor Daniel M. Zucker

VEVAK learned its methodology from the Soviet KGB and many of the Islamist revolutionaries who supported Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini actually studied at Moscow's Patrice Lumumba Friendship University, the Oxford of terrorism. Documented Iranian alumni include the current Supreme Leader (the faqih) Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, under whose Velayat-e Faqih (Rule of the Islamic Jurisprudent) apparatus it has traditionally operated. Its current head is Cabinet Minister Hojatoleslam Gholam-Hussein Mohseni-Ezhei, a graduate of Qom's Haqqani School, noted for its extremist position advocating violence against enemies and strict clerical control of society and government. The Ministry is very well funded and its charge, like that of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (the Pasdaran) is to guard the revolutionary Islamic Iranian regime at all costs and under all contingencies.

From the KGB playbook, VEVAK learned the art of disinformation. It's not so difficult to learn: tell the truth 80% of the time and lie 20%. Depending on how well a VEVAK agent wants to cover his/her tracks, the ratio may go up to 90/10, but it never drops below the 80/20 mark as such would risk suspicion and possible detection. The regime in Teheran has gone to great lengths to place its agents in locations around the world. Many of these operatives have been educated in the West, including the U.K. and the United States. Iranian government agencies such as embassies, consulates, Islamic cultural centers, and airline offices regularly provide cover for the work of VEVAK agents who dress well and are clean shaven, and move comfortably within our society. In this country, because of the severance of diplomatic relations, the principal site of VEVAK activities begins at the offices of Iran's Permanent Mission to the UN in New York.

Teheran has worked diligently to place its operatives in important think tanks and government agencies in the West. Some of its personnel have been recruited while in prison through torture or more often through bribery, or a combination of both. Others are Islamist revolutionaries that have been set up to look like dissidents - often having been arrested and imprisoned, but released for “medical reasons”. The clue to detecting the fake “dissident” is to read carefully what he/she writes, and to ask why this vocal “dissident” was released from prison when other real dissidents have not been released, indeed have been grievously tortured and executed. Other agents have been placed in this country for over twenty-five years to slowly go through the system and rise to positions of academic prominence due to their knowledge of Farsi and Shia Islam or Islamist fundamentalism.

One of the usual tactics of VEVAK is to co-opt academia to its purposes. Using various forms of bribery, academics are bought to defend the Islamic Republic or slander its enemies. Another method is to assign bright students to train for academic posts as specialists in Iranian or Middle East affairs. Once established, such individuals are often consulted by our government as it tries to get a better idea of how it should deal with Iran. These academics then are in a position to skew the information, suggesting the utility of extended dialogue and negotiation, or the danger and futility of confronting a strong Iran or its proxies such as Hizballah (Hezbollah). These academics serve to shield the regime from an aggressive American or Western policy, and thereby buy more time for the regime to attain its goals, especially in regards to its nuclear weaponry and missile programs.

MOIS likes to use the media, especially electronic media, to its advantage. One of VEVAK's favorite tricks is setting up web sites that look like they are opposition sites but which are actually controlled by the regime. These sites often will be multilingual, including Farsi, German, Arabic French, and English. Some are crafted carefully and are very subtle in how they skew their information (e.g., Iran-Interlink, set up and run by Massoud Khodabandeh and his wife Ann Singleton from Leeds, England); others are less subtle, simply providing the regime's point of view on facts and events in the news (e.g., www.mujahedeen.com or www.mojahedin.ws). This latter group is aimed at the more gullible in our open society and unfortunately such a market exists. However, if one begins to do one's homework, asking careful questions, the material on these fake sites generally does not add up.

Let's examine a few examples of VEVAK's work in the United States. In late October, 2005, VEVAK sent three of its agents to Washington to stage a press event in which the principal Iranian resistance movement, the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MeK), was to be slandered. Veteran VEVAK agent Karim Haqi flew from Amsterdam to Canada where he was joined by VEVAK's Ottawa agents Amir-Hossein Kord Rostami and Mahin (Parvin-Mahrokh) Haji, and the three flew from Toronto to Washington. Fortunately the resistance had been tracking these three, informed the FBI of their presence in Washington, and when the three tried to hold a press conference, the resistance had people assigned to ask pointed questions of them so that they ended the interview prematurely and fled back to Canada.

Abolghasem Bayyenet is a member of the Iranian government. He serves as a trade expert for the Ministry of Commerce. But his background of study and service in the Foreign Ministry indicates that Bayyenet is more than just an economist or a suave and savvy businessman. In an article published in Global Politician on April 23, 2006, entitled “Is Regime Change Possible in Iran?”, Bayyenet leads his audience to think that he is a neutral observer, concerned lest the United States make an error in its assessment of Iran similar to the errors of intelligence and judgment that led to our 2003 invasion of Iraq, with its less than successful outcome. However, his carefully crafted bottom line is that the people of Iran are not going to support regime change and that hardliner President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad actually has achieved greater popularity than his predecessors because of his concern for the problems of the poor and his fight for economic and social justice. To the naive, Bayyenet makes Ahmadinejad sound positively saintly. Conveniently overlooked is the occurrence of over four thousand acts of protest, strikes, anti-regime rallies, riots, and even political assassinations by the people of Iran against the government in the year since Ahmadinejad assumed office. So too, the following facts are ignored: the sizeable flight of capital, the increase in unemployment, and the rising two-figure rate of inflation, all within this last year. Bayyenet is a regime apologist, and when one is familiar with the facts, his arguments ring very hollow. However, his English skills are excellent, and so the naОve might be beguiled by his commentary.

Mohsen Sazegara is VEVAK's “reformed revolutionary”. A student supporter of Khomeini before the 1979 revolution, Sazegara joined the “imam” on his return from exile and served in the government for a decade before supposedly growing disillusioned.

He formed several reformist newspapers but ran afoul of the hardliners in 2003 and was arrested and imprisoned by VEVAK. Following “hunger strikes”, Sazegara was released for health reasons and permitted to seek treatment abroad. Although critical of the government and particularly of Ahmadinejad and KhameneМ, Sazegara is yet more critical of opposition groups, leaving the impression that he favors internal regime change but sees no one to lead such a movement for the foreseeable future. His bottom line: no one is capable of doing what needs to be done, so we must bide our time. Very slick, but his shadow shows his likely remaining ties to the MOIS.

Man's Best Terror Deterrent Still Somewhat-Reliable Dog

By Sari Horwitz
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, August 12, 2005; A01

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/11/AR2005081102148.html

Deep underneath downtown Washington on a recent morning, law
enforcement officers from four agencies were "sweeping" Metro stations, moving
from trash cans and orange cones to Farecard machines and trains, looking
for dynamite, C4, triacetone triperoxide and other explosives. They
were using what is believed to be the most powerful defense against the
type of terrorist attacks that killed 56 people last month in London:
dogs.

The ability of dogs to detect 19,000 types of explosives makes them
more effective at catching potential suicide bombers than security cameras
or random passenger searches, officials said. Homeland Security
Secretary Michael Chertoff yesterday visited a Virginia training facility for
police dogs, calling them a "state-of-the-art anti-terrorist tool."

Still, terrorism experts and the police officers who work with the dogs
caution that the canine units can offer, at best, spotty protection on
mass transit.

Local and federal agencies have too few dogs to cover the nation's
transit systems, which carry 14 million people daily. Many of the dogs can
work for only about a half-hour before they need a break. And their
ability to find explosives depends on the quantity and proximity of the
material, the strength of the odor, the temperature and direction of the
wind.

Private companies, laboratories and government research centers are
working to develop technologies to replace or help the dogs. The Defense
Department is conducting experiments with rats, wasps, honeybees and
yeast to find other ways to detect explosives. Marines in Iraq have
experimented with a $28,000 hand-held device called Fido that some of them
believe can find explosives as well as a trained dog.

For now, though, the burden falls on such dogs as Andy, an energetic
black Labrador retriever who works for the federal Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He and his canine colleagues from ATF
flunked out of guide-dog school because they were too keyed up to stay by
a blind person's side. Their curiosity and mobility, however, make them
excellent bomb-sniffers and have put them on the front lines of the
nation's fight against domestic terrorism.

Andy "is really a giant nose with four legs," said Jim Cavanaugh,

This is a long order............

I do think that they were and are still saying nice things about the Baath Party.

A quick look at this google, gives the glaring answer.

Socialist = Communist to me and that is what the Baath Party is.

I keep falling over hidden commies in the arab groups, too many leaders trained in Russia.

Hello, I'm back for a few days before heading out again. I was glad that some of Vladimir Bukovsky's long-neglected work finally seeing the light of day :-)

Here's an article he wrote back in 1995, with documents referenced in your post in ping 1086:

Secrets of the Central Committee

Vladimir Bukovsky

BEFORE ME on my desk is an enormous pile of papers, some 3,000 pages marked "top secret," "special file," "exceptional importance," and "personal." At first glance, they all look the same. In the top right-hand corner is the slogan, "Workers of the world, unite!" On the left side-a severe warning: "To be returned to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (General Department, Section I) within 24 hours." On some, the restrictions are less stringent-the document may be retained for three days or seven, or, not quite so frequently, for two months.

Lower down, in large letters across the page, are the words: "The Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Central Committee" (CC CPSU). Farther below are codes, reference numbers, a date, a list of those who have initialed the document, those who voted for the decision it contains, and those charged with its implementation. The implementers are not, in all cases, entitled to see the entire thing. Instead, they receive an "abstract from the minutes," the contents of which they are forbidden to publicize; a reminder of this appears in fine print in the left margin of the page.* And the rules governing the use of top-secret documents from the Politburo, the Central Committee’s executive committee and the most powerful decision-making body of the Soviet Union, are even stricter:

ATTENTION

A comrade in receipt of top-secret documents of the CC CPSU may not pass them into other hands nor acquaint anyone with their contents without special permission from the CC. Photocopying or making extracts from the documents in question is categorically forbidden. The comrade to whom the document is addressed must sign and date it after he has studied the contents.

This was how the Soviet Communist party ruled: secretly, leaving no traces, and at times even no witnesses.

THE DOCUMENTS spread across my desk were not addressed to me, and I certainly have no intention of returning them to Section I of the CC CPSU within 24 hours, or even within 72. Shamelessly violating the carefully delineated rules, I study the signatures of Leonid Brezhnev, Konstantin Chernenko, Yuri Andropov, Mikhail Gorbachev, Dmitri Ustinov, Andrei Gromyko, and Boris Ponomarev. I read their handwritten comments in the margins, their profound decisions concerning everything from arrest and exile and murder of those they considered undesirable to the financing of international terrorism, from disinformation campaigns to the preparation of aggression against neighboring countries. These papers contain the beginning and the end of countless tragedies of the past three decades.

The story of how, in the aftermath of the USSR’s dissolution, I was able to gain access to the key archives of the Communist regime-and of my adventures inside the archives themselves-deserves an article, even a (Russian) novel, of its own.1 The key thing is that I took the precaution of bringing from my home in England a miracle of Japanese technology-a portable computer with a hand-held scanner. Thanks to this piece of wizardry, a form of high technology completely unknown to our Russian savages, I was able to sit right under their noses and scan piles of documents, page after page, unruffled by those who kept coming up to peer over my shoulder and exclaim, "Now, that must have cost a few bucks!"

In what follows, I leave aside the bloody record of the Soviet regime within the borders of its empire, and vis-а-vis its own people, to concentrate on the story of Moscow’s hand abroad in the last few decades. I am well aware, of course, that these days, the revelations contained in the papers I vacuumed up with my scanner tend to elicit, in the West, an indifferent shrug: so what? who cares? I will return to this matter later. But only a few years ago, anyone who dared to suggest that "the hand of Moscow" was at work in some international development or another would have been routinely accused of "McCarthyism" and relegated to the status of a pariah. I know; it happened to me. And even those disposed to believe the worst of the Kremlin would often raise a doubt, lamenting that we would never see the evidence. Well, here it is, signed, stamped, and numbered.2

The rest here.

TRAIL OF TERROR
Christian woman facing fight for sons
Battle is over husband's desire to see them 'good Muslims or dead'
Posted: January 2, 2007
1:00 a.m. Eastern

© 2007 WorldNetDaily.com

A Christian woman who once served as an FBI informant on her husband's alleged support of terrorism now is seeking divorce from the self-described radical Muslim who told her he would be proud if their two teen sons blew themselves up for Allah.

But she's finding herself on her own – completely – after a judge allowed her lawyer to withdraw, refused to allow an interested lawyer from appearing in her court, and then refused to allow time for any other replacement to be found before today's trial.

At stake are Rosine Collin Ghawji's sons, whose futures have been defined by her husband as being "good Muslims" or dead, she said.

The situation is developing in the case in which Mrs. Ghawji is seeking not only her freedom from her husband, Maher Ghawji, but also to protect her sons Louis and Takek from any violent Islamic plans their father may have for them.

Joe Kaufman, who has run an anti-terrorism organization for several years, noted that both of the Ghawji sons have, in e-mails and other communications, told friends their father was planning to take them to Syria against their will, and one noted that his grandfather has promised to beat him up when he arrived there.

(Story continues below)

Mrs. Ghawji's local lawyer was given permission by a Memphis, Tenn., judge on Dec. 19 to withdraw from the case, another lawyer willing to represent her – Larry Klayman -- was denied permission to enter the case, and the court ruled that the trial date – today – would not be delayed.

Klayman, who'd been contacted about the case a few months earlier, told WND that the facts read "like a John Grisham novel." Only this case is real life, with the FBI holding ex parte meetings with the judge, the federal agency "wiring" her to record and report on her husband, her husband allegedly threatening the children that they would be better off dead than Christian, and allegations of extramarital affairs.

And Mrs. Ghawji, if her allegations are correct, is up against more than just a judicial system and a divorce trial; but against some of the most radical factions in the world today, including the adherents of blind Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman, now serving a life sentence in the SuperMax prison in Colorado on accusations he helped in the planning of the 1993 World Trade Center bombings in New York.

The couple married in 1986, and she said she noticed her husband's unusual activities almost from the beginning. She said between 1987 and 1992 she often waited in the women's room of a mosque for hours while her husband was meeting with Rahman, and later the FBI visited her and asked about some of her husband's acquaintances, including a man the FBI described as being on a "terrorist watch list" who had rented an apartment from her husband.

She said it appeared about that time that her husband's brother, Haitham Ghawji, started appearing more often in their lives.

She said a letter from Haitham justified killing non-Muslims and encouraged Maher to join Jihad, and when Haitham was visiting their home, where the family lived in Memphis, in 1996, he wanted to watch the news one evening.

When the report aired about the attack at the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia in which 19 American military personnel died, he said, "We got them! The Americans … we got them. They think they are going to rule the world, but they do not know what it is to have war on their own soil, but pretty soon they will," she reported.

The next year when the family obtained a home computer, she started watching the communications through it, and eventually talked with the FBI. They asked her to continue monitoring those, and forward to them e-mails, telephone numbers and the like.

She said on Sept. 11, 2001, a few hours before the terrorism attacks, her husband's brother sent an e-mail announcing some of his friends were coming to the U.S., and they should be made to feel welcome.

When, at a dinner party, a guest remarked how difficult it was to bring items on airplanes because of the new security measures, her husband responded: "Don't worry. We will find another way to get them."

A short time later, he erupted in rage because she had been teaching French to a little Russian Jewish boy in their home. At that point he threatened to kill her with a poison other doctors wouldn't detect and announced he was Wahhabi Muslim, whose beliefs include violence against non-Muslims.

It was at that point an FBI agent convinced her to wear a recording device and monitor her husband's financial dealings, which included donations to a front group accused of raising money for Hamas, she said.

It was also then that he cut off financial support for his family and threatened to take the children to Syria, so she sought a restraining order. But a judge, Donna Fields, ordered the boys to spend every other Sunday with their father even though they pleaded not to.

FBI agent Jim Raddatz told her he suspected her husband of leading a double life – as a physician but also as terrorist financier with connections to a Florida organization that he was unwilling to discuss.

But then he also told her her husband had contacted the FBI and they were upset with him because he hadn't provided them with some information.

Ghawji also staged a campaign of rhetoric, condemning the U.S., Jews and Israel, and praising suicide bombers, and at one point looked her in the eyes and said if their children were not good Muslims, they would be better dead.

It terrified her, she said.

Her husband also had an affair, and possibly more, with a spokeswoman working for the Islamic Society of Central Florida, she said, when details of their actions were confirmed by a private investigator.

That organization, she said, tried to sponsor a fundraiser featuring Siraj Wahhaj, who is on the U.S. Attorney’s list of potential co-conspirators to the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.

She alleges her husband told her for as little as $1,000 he could hire a "hitman" to kill her, and expressed pride in being a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Documents also show Haitham Ghawji has been linked to convicted felon Rafat Jamal Mawlawi, who also is connected to Enaam Arnaout. On April 4, 2005, the FBI conducted a raid on Mawlawi’s residence, and the Memphis Flyer reported authorities finding a hidden stash of loaded weapons and ammunition clips, $34,000 in cash, two pictures of Mawlawi shouldering a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, a gruesome videotape of war casualties with Arabic text and more than 20 passports to Morocco, Syria, Iran, and other Middle Eastern countries.

In a "Government Evidentiary Proffer Supporting the Admissibility of Co-Conspirator Statements," on page 67, the U.S. Government indicated that "H. GHAWJI" was mentioned.

No spokesman for her husband, the courts, or the FBI could be reached for a comment over the New Year's Day holiday.

But just recently as allegations of terrorism connections were developing – and being substantiated, the judge sealed the court records in the two-and-a-half-year-old case, scheduled the hearing, allowed the lawyer to leave the case and took the unusual step of ruling that Mrs. Ghawji would not be allowed to bring her case in any other jurisdiction.

Klayman said from the appearance of government participation in the case, with FBI agents meeting with the judge, he contacted FBI general counsel Patrick Kelley with questions about what was going on, because of issues that include equal protection, due process and others.

Kelley's response to Klayman was that he should "do what you have to do," he said.

POLEWALI MANDAR, Indonesia (AP) - Indonesia's transportation minister said Tuesday that rescuers had not found the wreckage of a missing passenger jetliner, despite earlier statements from aviation and police officials that it had been located.

The Adam Air Boeing 737 carrying 102 people sent out two distress signals in stormy weather Monday. It was halfway through its two-hour flight from Indonesia's main island of Java to Manado, on the northern tip of Sulawesi, one of the largest islands in the sprawling archipelago.

"The search and rescue team is still looking for the location," Transport Minister Hatta Radjasa told El-Shinta radio, insisting that earlier statements that the wreckage had been located were based on rumors from villagers that were passed on to local officials. "It has not yet been found."

Police Chief Col. Genot Hariyanto had earlier said that rescue teams arrived at the crash site on Sulawesi's western coast early Tuesday and found the charred wreckage of Adam Air Flight KI-574 and scores of bodies.

Setyo Raharjo, head of the National Commission on Transportation Safety, also said that searchers had found 90 bodies at the scene and the search for the other 12 was continuing. He had said the crash site was inaccessible by helicopter or car.

Other senior aviation officials also later retreated from the reports that the wreckage had been found.

Rescue and search teams hiked through heavy rain and slippery forest paths for hours Tuesday in search of the plane. Teams suspended the search as darkness fell and said they would continue at dawn Wednesday and were considering widening their efforts to include the sea.

Air force Rear Cmdr. Eddy Suyanto was one of numerous officials who had said the plane crashed in a mountainous region in Polewali, west Sulawesi province, but he acknowledged the error later Tuesday.

"We apologize for the news that we released earlier," he said. "It was not true."

At one point Tuesday, an Adam Air spokesman had said a dozen people survived the crash, but Indonesian authorities said they could not verify the report.

The accident followed weeks of seasonal rains and high winds in Indonesia that have caused deadly floods, landslides and maritime accidents - including the sinking of a ferry in the Java Sea late Friday that killed or left missing about 400 people.

Hundreds of people gathered at Manado's airport, and some collapsed when they heard reports that 90 people were killed. Others angrily banged on the door of the Adam Air office there, demanding information, witnesses said.

Justin Tumurang's twin sister was on the plane.

"Being a twin, we share almost every feeling. I felt something was not right, and it grew worse. Now I feel pain," she said.

Adam Air is one of at least a dozen budget carriers that have emerged in the country since 1999, when the industry was deregulated. The rapid expansion has led to cheap flights to scores of destinations around the sprawling nation, but has raised some safety concerns, since maintenance on the leased planes is reportedly poor.

National aviation chief Ichsan Tatang said the Boeing 737 that vanished Monday was 17 years old, had flown 45,371 hours and passed its last inspection on Dec. 25.

"Everything was in order, the condition of the plane was good," he said, adding it was too early to speculate on the cause of the crash though it went down in severe weather.

In September 2005, a Mandala Airlines Boeing 737 crashed after takeoff on Sumatra, killing 143 people.

In September 1997, a Garuda Airlines Airbus crashed into a jungle-covered mountain slope in Sumatra, killing all 234 people aboard. Two months later, a Silk Air Boeing 737 jet crashed into a river on Sumatra, killing 104 people.

Adam Air, which began operations in 2003, was founded by Agung Laksono, the speaker of Indonesia's house of representatives and the company's chairman.

QUITO, Ecuador (AP) - Incoming Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Friday that the United States wants to strengthen relations with Ecuador's leftist President-elect Rafael Correa and respects his intention to not extend the U.S. military's use of a coastal base.

Reid and a bipartisan delegation of five other senators met for almost an hour with Correa, who takes office on Jan. 15, and expressed a desire to build better bilateral relations.

Asked about Ecuador's involvement in the Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act, a package of trade benefits that Washington offers in exchange for counter-drug cooperation, Reid said President Bush supports an extension.

Congress has renewed the agreement under which products from Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador can enter the North American market until June 2007.

"Democratic Negro circles" in America received not only employment help but also other forms of guidance. A top-secret KGB document from April 1970 recounts how the

radical Negro organization "Black Panthers" has been subjected to harsh repression by the U.S. authorities headed by the FBI, who consider that the Black Panthers pose a serious threat to national security. Police provocations and trials of Black Panthers, the broad coverage of the terrorist actions of the authorities against the activists of this organization, have resulted in a significant growth of the Black Panthers’ prestige in progressive circles in the U.S. In view of the circumstance that the Black Panthers are a dynamic Negro organization which poses a serious threat to America’s ruling classes, the CPUSA is attempting to influence the organization in the necessary direction.

This "policy of the CPUSA," the KGB report concludes, "is already yielding positive results." <<<

From your link in #1145

Thank you for this page, it does a good job of shining the light on so many of them, and now, I do not feel so nuts, for seeing all the strings leading back to Russia.

Am I correct to take the thinking a step further and thinking that today, all that funding "for the new party members" comes from Soros.

LOL, yep, I got excited over the sites in post 1086, I guess my " gut feeling" is still working ok, I was half afraid that you would say that I had a tinfoil site.

All of a sudden, the links between the arabs and russia, are being found, are they being planted, so we will know who we are really fighting?

So many of the jihadi were trained in Russia, LOL, and Clinton and how many others?

At the end of my searches on the 1086 post, there was a site for photos of the different people involved, some of the people on the list, had notations of their crimes, one was in prison for holding Babtist Church meetings.

Reading the reports on the beginning of the Chechen war, gives me an odd feeling, and an understanding of why Anna and Linvinenko needed to be killed.

Someone with a better memory than I, could look at the list of names on the petition and pick out the ones who have died in Russia recently and signed it for the protest.

I am glad you are back, we miss you, when you are missing.

Thank you for "the rest of the story".

Happy New Year.

I also found the PLO and American political link you caught to be interesting. Remember the Italian (Scaramelli?) arrested for allegedly leaking the Mitrohin archives? The Mitrohin documents were similar to Bukovsky's, but they also documented that the new Italian Prime Minister was once in the KGB's pocket. I wonder if Scaramelli will die in an Italian jail, or with Litvinenko Disease from bad sushi.

Your comment: Am I correct to take the thinking a step further and thinking that today, all that funding "for the new party members" comes from Soros.

Well... Soros has stated that his ideal would be to drive both Putin AND GW Bush from office, so I don't think they run with the same crowd. The world isn't necessarily bipolar. I subscribe to the Orwellian theory of 'Oceania' (US-Can-UK-Aus-NZ-Japan) -v- 'Eurasia' (Central Europe and Central Asia) -v- 'Eastasia' (China). Always two against one, and whenever one of the three is in danger of being defeated, one of the others will switch sides to ensure stability of chaos.

Reading about the early days of the Chechen war (first war, as pursued by Yeltsin) is interesting to me as well. Putin's greatest foreign policy victory was in linking his pursuit of the Chechen rebellion (second war) with GW Bush's GWOT.

Here's a translation of something from Grani.ru's archives about the first Chechen war, which you have probably already read elsewhere. What is interesting is a speech made by a ranking member of the Russian Parliament on the 10th anniversary of the first Chechen war:

Ivan Rybkin

Speaker of the Russian Duma (Parliament), 1994 - 1996.

(On the guilty of yesterday and today)

The moods in the Duma at that moment were very martial. We demanded that law and order be restored in Chechnya, since there was absolute chaos.

Russians, Jews, and Tatars were being tossed out of their homes. Boris Nikolayevich (Yeltsin) in a letter appealed to the Duma, outlining several proposals on how to restore order. As chairman of the parliament, I answered that it was necessary to conduct negotiations with the Chechen field commanders and declare amnesty for all participants in the conflict. That was done later, but it was already too late. We do not succeed in controlling the situation through negotiations back then, we sent troops, but we did not want war. We just had to do something to help those who were being persecuted in Chechnya.

The Duma back then held a very hard line with regards to this. They put pressure on Yeltsin from all sides. Everyone was for a solution by force - Primakov, Chernomyrdin, and almost everyone. I myself as well. In contrast to others, I do not hide this. What happened, happened.

We had to sit down at the negotiating table and come up with something. Grachev went to the talks with Dudayev, but they could not come to an agreement. While they met in private, Dudayev said: "You see those who just now left the room? If I say 'yes' to you right now, they themselves would kill me." In 1996, when Berezovsky and I finally ended this war, the powers that found it profitable to continue the war still remained in power. I always said, that we had to conduct talks separately with each of the Chechen field commanders. Then, possibly, we could have avoided this present conflict.

Now the situation is very complex, and Putin has become its hostage. We warned him with regards to this, but he would not listen. In the big picture, the way out is still the same: we have to sit down and negotiate. Only now this is ever more complicated. Those now at war have seen nothing but war, and respect no one else beside themselves: neither Putin, nor their own field commanders. They do not care about anything - they are frostbitten. The war moved into central Russia precisely because once we did not know how to negotiate, and now we do not know with whom. The regime nowadays, speaking frankly, is a little scared, I nowadays I do not see anyone there who would know how to sit down at a negotiating table.

Implications of the Washington ‘sniper case’ – A scenario for US-Iraq war-time terrorism

Who predicted that Washington, the capital of the world’s only superpower, would be terrorised for three weeks by a sociopathic Islamic terrorist and a 17 year old, illegal immigrant accomplice?

Who predicted that the ‘snipers’ were using a customized van for assassinations?

Not the 600 FBI personnel, 454 federal agents, 101 ATF analysts, 59 inspectors, 50 secret service agents and local police from five jurisdictions, who remained locked in the pre-9/11 law enforcement dominant paradigm.

Not a single ‘expert ‘imagined that two mobile snipers operated from a custom made car designed as a ‘killing machine’: with two holes in the trunk, one for the rifle, the other for the scope. Shots could be fired without opening the trunk. The back seat could be folded down so the sniper did not have to step outside the car.

The primitive category mistake of confusing criminal acts with terrorist acts and using law enforcement techniques to identify and capture terrorists, resulted in a rainbow coalition of overweight criminologists, bearded forensic psychologists and a host of ‘experts ‘ and geographical/ psychological profilers recoursing to the following stereotypes:

We believe the sniper is …..

The facts

An ‘Angry White Man’ with a crew cut; white t shirt and tattoos.

The snipers were a 41 year old African-American, who "controlled" a 17 year old immigrant who had been an illegal alien for twelve months; the 17 year old had been released by the INS in December 2001.

A member of a right wing extremist militia group; a ‘gun nut and a loner’.

The snipers were not members of a right wing militia group.

The senior sniper had been the subject of inquiries by the FBI in 1997 and after the 9/11 attacks, Muhammad’s name had been forwarded to the FBI as a person of interest by a priest concerned that he was hiding his identity and that he was a potential Islamic terrorist who was ‘possible involved in preparing an attack on the country’. No further action was taken by the FBI, which regarded it as ‘a local matter’.

Military experts claimed that the sniper did not have a military background and claimed that if he had been in the military he would have used a weapon with a 308 caliber bullet not a .223.

The senior sniper was a member of the US military for eleven years.

The snipers used a Bushmaster XM 15 which used .223 caliber bullets.

Law enforcement insisted that the sniper drove a white sedan or white truck, a van, a cream colored Toyota.

The snipers drove a weather-beaten faded blue 1990 model Chevrolet Caprice.

There was no reliable information that they ever drove a white van; the investigators may have responded to a planned diversion as thousands of hours were wasted on the search for the wrong vehicles.

A senior investigator reflected that ‘We were looking for a white van with white people, and we ended up with a blue car with black people’.

The Chevrolet had been purchased from Sure Shot sales in New Jersey on the 10th September 2002 and was customised for assassinations.

The snipers were stopped in roadblocks on at least five occasions and the licence tags had been checked by Washington authorities at least ten times through data bases and found to be clean. As early as 7 October 2002 the sniper had been questioned by police [and released] as he rested in his car in a car park beside highway exit.

Sociopathic teenagers on a killing spree.

A Zodiac type serial killer, as yet uncaught, who was responsible for at least six deaths in the San Francisco area.

A person with no political motive.

The older sniper had publicly expressed his sympathy for the 9/11 terrorists.

The older sniper was a member of a Muslim paramilitary sect; Louis Farrakhan’s ‘The Nation of Islam’ and had changed his surname to ‘Mohamed’

A mercenary.

The snipers were not primarily motivated by money and a grandiose money demand was issued after the twelfth shooting.

A person who would not kill children.

Police were informed by the terrorists that no child would be safe.

The snipers were fixated on monitoring their activities on television news reports.

The snipers were captured sleeping in the car after a tip off from a private citizen; there is no reliable information that they were tracking the investigation on television.

Bin Laden spokesman threatens assassination campaigns

The 1993 World Trade Centre and the 9/11 terrorist attacks revealed that US intelligence agencies lost focus on the internal threat to US security from Bin Laden and Al Qaeda, who have openly discussed their commitment to urban terrorism within the United States for the past decade. In 1997, Bin Laden threatened to ‘move the fight inside the United States of America itself’.

Al Qaeda must have been enthused watching the politically correct investigation of the ‘Washington sniper’ diverting valuable resources and the hapless local police chief who provided a televised comic dimension against a backdrop of ten murders by a former soldier conducting his own version of jihad.

Al Qaeda manuals correctly emphasises that 80% of intelligence derives form open source collection. HUMINT is not needed to assess the trend in Al Qaeda operations to foster internal war within the US. Bin Laden and his spokesmen are frank and explicit. In early July 2002, Al Qaeda’s chief spokesman Sulaiman Abu Ghaith declared in a statement resonant with meaning:

‘Our military and intelligence networks are assessing and monitoring new US targets that we will strike in a period of time which is not long. Al Qaeda is ‘preparing for a coming period …of guerrilla war’. We have started changing the war to attacks and assassinations and we have successes in that with God’s help. And we, the fighters of the holy war, in general, are hoping to enter the next phase, which we in the military call the gang war phase. We are attempting expand the frontlines. …it will be a war of killings, war against businesses which will hit the enemy where he does not expect’.

The following scenario is based on a study of the ‘Washington sniper case’ and is derived solely from publicly available information, primarily Al Qaeda training manuals from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Germany and the UK. Some of the incidents described in the scenario have occurred in the United States and Australia. Highlighted quotations are from AL Qaeda training manuals.

The scenario is based entirely on open source information.

Immediately following the US ‘invasion’ of Iraq…

The US peace movement ‘spontaneously’ and swiftly mobilises pre-planned mass demonstrations in capital cities; dual purpose effigies of President Bush are burned in the street and quickly used as firebombs thrown into traffic and buildings; demonstrators throw ball bearings, urine filled containers and balloons, bolts, nails and nuts at police. Banners are constructed to be dual purpose and are used by demonstrators and terrorist elements within the demonstrations as weapons against police.

Due to the contagion effect of demonstrations and illegal mass action, the actions of demonstrators and terrorists rapidly becomes blurred. ‘Leaders’ [including trained foreign intelligence assets] spontaneously emerge and guide demonstrators to target key buildings which are ‘related’ to the war against Iraq.

University buildings allegedly involved in US defence projects are seized, occupied or firebombed; riots erupt between competing student activists as the campuses split on racial, religious, ethnic fault lines.

~ ~ ~

‘The mujaheed should be young, so he can start the mission ten years before the start of the jihad…Using fast moving, light forces that work with complete secrecy’ Mujaheed respond to coded recognition signals including hand movements, ‘brush contacts in streets that avoid surveillance’, single word commands embedded in emails, porn sites and chat rooms. Websites conceal maps and target instructions toward ‘sleeper cells’.

Videotapes and Friday sermons in Mosques also inform terrorists of targets. Coded instructions collected at dead drops or ‘dead boxes’ located in mosques, whispered instructions from’ brothers’, and drawing on ‘stacks and stores’ of weapons, Islamic terrorists and their networked cells of sympathisers and sleeper agents, hit ‘high density targets‘ Washington, creating social panic, disorientation and diversion using ‘the basic rules of sabotage and terror’.

~ ~ ~

Emerging swiftly from ethnic enclaves and a system of safe houses and safe mosques, which are legally insulated from systematic surveillance, Islamic terrorists wage co-ordinated and synchronised attacks throughout the US. Civilian airports are seized and sabotage campaigns are launched against US Naval Air Force and Defence facilities.

Truck bombs are driven at major Washington embassies. Radio controlled model boats are floated on rivers lakes and dams near strategic installations and are detonated by a remote switch. Cities face massive flooding. Small boats packed with bombs are targeted at aircraft carriers. The terrorists increase social disorientation by ‘blasting and destroying bridges leading into and out of the cities’.

~ ~ ~

Pre-occupied with containing demonstrations, authorities are incapable of monitoring and taking counter measures against ‘breakaway elements’ of terrorists, terrorist sympathisers and foreign agents within the demonstrators who begin ‘blasting and destroying the embassies and attacking vital economic centres …including …high density targets …buildings, bridges, embassies, schools, amusement parks.’ They also ‘target and occupy government buildings, drop poisonous materials in air conditioning systems and containers of odorless gas which incapacitate thousands of victims’.

~ ~ ~

C-4 and C-3, astrolite, the world’s most powerful non-nuclear explosive, and at least 60 other chemicals used in explosives are planted by cells or sympathisers. They are aimed at US ‘vital points’ and essential service of the social infrastructure, such as dams, nuclear plants, power stations and power grids. ‘Explosions strike the enemy with sheer terror and fright.’

~ ~ ~

Under the cover of mass pro-peace demonstrations and anti war protests, Islamic terrorists target US political elites for assassination: their targeting is based on ‘microscopic surveillance of the target… his habits, his daily errands, his children and his wife, his standing in the community, his skills and educational goals, his income, when he awakes, the best times for inspecting his house, places he goes regularly’ targets include:... ‘Those personalities that block the call’s path, all types of military and civilian intellectuals and thinkers for the State.’

~ ~ ~

Key political intelligence and military leaders and commanders are assassinated by Jihad suicide groups or ‘four man fire teams’ … ‘killing personality and guards from cars.’ In 1997, Bin Laden offered $US 9 million reward for the deaths of the chiefs of the US State Department, Department of Defence and CIA/FBI.

Nuclear power plants are fire bombed and naval installations and bridges are assaulted by use of “Green peace ‘style boats showing ‘white flags’. Terrorists disguised as demonstrators parachute into denied areas such as military naval and air force bases and nuclear power stations and plant explosive devices; cyber-war attacks cripple vital aspects of US C3 functions and civilian IT infrastructure is downed as e-Jihad is launched, including denial of service attacks, web defacement, and disruption of email.

~ ~ ~

Reflecting the breakdown of US counterintelligence, Iraqi and anti US moles and Islamic sympathisers in sensitive positions in US government provide tactical and timely information to Islamic terrorists to further their strategic objectives.

~ ~ ~

Food supplies and food sources are threatened as terrorists announce that frozen foods in shops and homes have been injected with biochemical agents. Food importers fear that they stored or sold contaminated food.

~ ~ ~

Terrorists inform media of the location of nuclear suitcase bombs which are ‘hot wired’ to bypass coded instructions; some locations are genuine; some are disinformation; all involve the massive deployment of scarce intelligence and law enforcement resources in a war-time situation.

Terrorists employing a psychological warfare trump card announce ‘catastrophic terrorism’ and claim to have a ‘dirty bomb’ in the form of radioactive material lashed to high explosives, which is aimed at Washington. They threaten to contaminate the city and blow radioactive debris for miles resulting in the death of over 100,000 people when used in a densely populated area. The use of the words ‘nuclear’ radiological’ weapon’ creates mass panic, increasing casualties.

~ ~ ~

Government analysts perplexed by the ‘signal to noise ratio’ and ‘warning fatigue’ are unable to assess the salience of the threats and whether they are the targets of a psychological warfare campaign. Early warning indicators are awry as terrorists exploiting an identified deficiency in US intelligence, use regional dialects to communicate messages to agents and terrorists, defying rapid translation.

~ ~ ~

Throughout major US cities, sniper assassins continue against random targets creating social and political disorientation and widespread social anomie. Riots break out accompanied by widespread looting and vandalism. Retail businesses close down. Factories slow down or cease production in some cases.

~ ~ ~

Strategically timed calls for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq are placed in the media as cases of CBW are reported, including botulism and anthrax which are communicated via the postal service on the edge and inside envelopes by ‘the poisonous letter’. Some envelopes have been booby trapped with a slim lead of C4 explosive.

A prominent academic commentator on Islamic affairs is assassinated as he adjusts his motorcycle helmet which is lined with explosives and detonated by a remote controlled device. Government press conferences dissolve into chaos and confusion as cameras aimed at the speakers explode Jewish media identities. Communities and synagogues are attacked by terrorists as part of the war against the hated ‘Zionist entity’-Israel.

~ ~ ~

Parcels containing cigarettes are opened and explode; ‘This system is normally used in an empty pack thrown in front of a house where the targeted person lives or just to create chaos in a certain area’. Hoaxes increase confusion: ‘spreading rumours and writing statements that instigate people against the enemy’.

~ ~ ~

The US government faces unprecedented nation-wide political demonstrations involving hundreds of thousands of Muslims, pro Iraqi groups, radical leftists, anti-globalisation activists, environmentalists and anti–US groups inspired by a single objective: the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq and bonded by a shared sentiment: hatred of the United States.

~ ~ ~

Foreign and US Islamic ulema, scholars and religious figures issue a fatwa against the US government and claim that the US government is waging a war on Islam; that there is a ‘conspiracy to destroy Islam’ thereby raising persecutory anxieties amongst ethnic groups and further inflaming protests and direct action.

Using cognitive dissonance and taqiyya as a strategic weapon, Islamic spokesmen appear on television insisting Islam is a peaceful religion and claim that Islam is the victim of discrimination. Major cities burn as rioting and ransacking mobs run through the streets, plundering shops and department stores. Many states declare a state of emergency. The National Guard is mobilised. The US government faces unprecedented organised dissent and terrorism creating a protracted legitimacy crisis while it is conducting the war against Iraq.

~ ~ ~

The ‘Washington sniper case’ is a warning to the United States and other Western countries. A sociopathic convert to Islam and his teenage accomplice in a custom designed sedan described as a ‘killing machine’ paralysed the business and social context of the capital of the United States for three weeks though a program of random assassination.

The US may confront an organised ‘enemy within’ combining illegal mass action, demonstrations, planned strategic assassination and the manipulation of anomie in a time of war. There were two ‘Washington snipers’. There are many more, throughout the United States and elsewhere, waiting… silently.

They do not care about anything - they are frostbitten. The war moved into central Russia precisely because once we did not know how to negotiate, and now we do not know with whom<<<<

I can see what is meant there I think, as there are many pieces in this puzzle.

I think of it as the real Chechen people, the Russian Army (being its own cruel self, as trained), the Russian people, that were moved into Chechna, by force and by their own will, and the jihadi who saw a weak country and moved in.

Of course the Russian leaders at the top, fighting to not let go of a country once under their rule. Being very KGB 'ish.

I think I would support the Chechen people if I were Chechen, and lived there, which would force me to work with the jihadi, in order to save my country from the Russians taking it over again.

Odd, how one has to move from one side of the fence, to the other, for survival.

I cannot stop thinking that if Russia would quit telling other countries how to be like them, that the world would be a better place.

Just as Russia is using her Gas to wrap the smaller countries up in to her clutches.

I cannot imagine me ever killing jihadi fashion or russian style either. and cannot imagine living in a country, with those types of problems, it is even beyond my wild imigination.

NO, I do not support the jihadi, but do understand how they have suckered in the Chechen people.

Our world will soon destroy itself, if this keeps up.

Isn't Scaramelli in an Italian jail?, if so, he may not live that long, as something that I was into last night, had a lot on the communists in Italy.

I shouldn't be having opinions tonight, as the blackouts are far too many, for some reason tonight.

I am quite taken with the last link that I posted above this, a site in Australia, about the U.S. and terrorists, don't think that i can work it as well as it should be tonight.

Thank you, for your help keeping me on the trail, it is good that I do not have a part in acting on my likes and dislikes.

You may well be correct on Soros, that one is a subject, that is much too large for my brain.

But, I did find once a source for his money, Calpernia, was able to fill in the connections, and it goes back to the nazi crowd in Germany in / after WW2.

She did have a thread that laid it out on F.R., it all makes sense, and when you come back to the threads that tie the muslim to the nazi and Russia, then you see that we are about in the melt down stage, where one of the three expects to win control of the world.

What I am not smart enough for, is to get the missing pieces and know when I have them.

Hugs to you for putting up with my rambling on.

Declassified Australian Documents Reflect Concern over Arab Terror
Tuesday, January 2, 2007 / 12 Tevet 5767

(IsraelNN.com) The Australian National Archives have released 30-year old cabinet documents which reveal that the Australian Security Intelligence Organization (ASIO) was deeply concerned about the rising tide of Arab terror gangs attacking Israeli and Jewish targets.

The ASIO believed that pro-Israel Bob Hawke, then president of the Australian Labor Party, was being targeted for assassination by the terrorist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), according to the Australian Associated Press. Other prominent members of Australia’s Jewish community and Israel’s ambassador to Australia were also listed as potential targets of Arab terror.

Hamas Tentatively Accepts Prisoner Swap Deal for Shalit
Tuesday, January 2, 2007 / 12 Tevet 5767

The Hamas terrorist organization has tentatively agreed to a complex prisoner swap deal with Israel that would win the freedom of captured IDF Cpl. Gilad Shalit.

The agreement comes two days before the issue was to be discussed at a meeting scheduled between Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

The two leaders are to meet in advance of a visit to the region by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice planned for this weekend.

The prisoner swap is not a “done deal” by any means, despite media headlines saying that Hamas has accepted Israel’s proposal to release jailed Palestinian Authority terrorists in return for Shalit’s freedom.

What is certain is confirmation by Hamas spokesman Fuazi Barhum that a meeting was held in Saudi Arabia between Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman and the two highest Hamas officials, PA Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and the group’s Damascus-based politburo chief, arch-terrorist Khaled Meshaal.

On paper, Israel will first receive a video from Hamas terrorists that is meant to show that the IDF officer, who was kidnapped during a cross-border raid from Gaza in June 2006, is still alive.

In return, Israel would release imprisoned PA women and minors. Catch Number One comes in this first step; the number of prisoners to be freed in this stage has not yet been set -- thus agreement by Hamas is not assured.

In the second stage, the terrorists will transfer Shalit to Egypt, from where he will be brought to Israel. Simultaneously, Israel will free 450 PA terrorists. Hamas will give Egyptian officials a list of those terrorists it is demanding from the Jewish State. Israel is being asked to approve and comply with this demand, hence, Catch Number Two. If Israel does not approve the list, Hamas may not cooperate.

If the first two hurdles are successfully managed, step number three will take place approximately two months later, when Israel is expected to release more PA terrorists. Again, Hamas will present Egyptian officials with a list of the prisoners it would like Israel to free.

Although Israel allegedly has the right to decide how many and which prisoners are to be released, and has promised to be ‘generous” in this third stage, the list has yet to be finalized and approved by Israel -- Catch Number Three.

The chances of the deal ever coming to fruition are further lessened due to the fact that the list that Hamas has already presented to Egyptian officials includes top terrorists that Israel has said it will never release, such as Marwan Barghout

Osama Bin Laden Is Dead, Again

http://www.mideastweb.org/log/archives/00000550.htm

Osama Bin Laden
Is Dead, Again

01/02/2007

This time it's for real, almost. On December 17, 2006, officials
announced that "Laden," as he was known, was killed by sharpshooters in the
northeastern state of Assam, India. "Laden," a 10-foot tall killer bull
elephant named after Osama bin Laden by fearful villagers, was
responsible for 14 deaths in the area and had evaded two previous assassination
attempts. Surprisingly, neither conspiracy theorists nor the Bush
administration attempted to use the event to sell books/videos or for
political gain. It would have been a hard sell: "Laden" was in India, not
Afghanistan; and 10-foot tall pachyderms are not prone to suicide bombings
and crashing planes into buildings. Nevertheless, the real Bin Laden
has been sold before to the U.S. public, either as the commander-in-chief
of a worldwide army of terrorists or as an impotent terrorist hiding in
his cave.

_____

Over the past five years, Bin Laden has been killed and resurrected on
numerous occasions. In the aftermath of September 11, 2001, American
politicians, mistaking cowboy movies for reality, proclaimed Bin Laden
wanted "Dead or Alive" and depicted him as the commander-in-chief of a
highly lethal worldwide army of terrorists. Subsequently, after the
U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan succeeded in toppling the Taliban and
destroying Al Qaedas infrastructure, this contradictory image --
commander-in-chief/impotent cave dwelling fugitive has swung back and
forth, according to the release of his communiques, Al Qaeda attacks,
political agendas, or media ratings.

Not only has Bin Laden's image varied, but he has been reported dead,
then alive, and then dead again. For those who speculated on his demise,
his communiques had obviously been faked. For those who posited that he
was still alive, he was, again, hiding out impotently in his cave, far
removed from the real "War on Terror" in Iraq, or the real mastermind
behind it all.

So, what is to be made of this image pendulum? Is Bin Laden a harmless
fugitive or the commander-in-chief? Is he a real threat or merely a
political pawn used by nefarious politicians? Is he alive or dead, and
does it matter?

True, Bin Laden still personally participates in directing Al Qaeda
operations, but Al Qaeda is not an army. It is a clandestine organization,
now numbering around 50,000 devout adherents according to the latest
U.S. intelligence estimates, but most operations are conducted
independently, without direct orders from Bin Laden. This is hardly an army that
threatens to destroy Western civilization all by itself.

No matter how politically manipulated Bin Laden's image, the threat is
real, but it does not center around one man. It comes from both the
devout adherents and the many like-minded organizations that have
developed over the years from Southeast Asia to Europe. All of this is linked
together by one thing -- ideology. While not agreeing with every point
Bin Laden has made in his speeches, the organizations/adherents are
anti-Western, anti-Israel, and anti any Muslim who doesnt agree with
their agenda. They favor driving the Western foreign presence/influence
from their regions and establishing an Islamic government.

Within this reality, Bin Laden is neither commander-in-chief nor
fugitive. He is a symbol -- a hero in the eyes of a growing jihadist
movement. When he dies, his followers will most assuredly announce his death,
for in their eyes he will have become a martyr to their cause.

One thing is predictable in our contemporary, unpredictable world. The
next Bin Laden communique will produce another politically expedient
rollercoaster ride. He will be elevated, deprecated, and relegated back
to his cave. If the communique coincides with a major Al Qaeda attack,
he will be the commander-in-chief, again. Few will bother to ask the key
question, why has the ideology he espouses become popular? Here in the
United States, the answers to this question do not fit the worldview of
our political/media elites, so the pendulum will continue to produce a
worldview that is dangerously removed from reality.
