Tom Tancredo to Fans: Write Congress to Help Dog the Bounty Hunter By Jon Shanks Sep 27, 2006
US Congressman from Colorado Tom Tancredo made a tough statement when Duane Chapman was arrested to try and assist the popular reality TV star Dog the Bounty Hunter.
Now the Congressman is asking for fans help. Tancredo appeared with Rita Crosby on Tuesday's show and pleaded with fans of Chapman to write their representatives to get the Dog unleashed from his legal troubles.

Right now, Chapman is facing extradition back to Mexico for a 2003 incident. Rita Crosby gives a synopsis of the interview on her blog.
She writes:
"Today, he told me hes written a letter to the Attorney General asking who was in charge of prioritizing assignments. Is it this administration-or the one in Mexico City?
He spoke to Dog on the phone in the last few days and believes, as many Americans do, that this man is a hero for getting a convicted rapist off the streets. The Congressman believes that justice officials on both sides of the border have their priorities out of whack to be focusing on bringing Dog back to Mexico when they have so many more severe problems at hand. He also wondered if its more than coincidence that Dog and two of his other team members get hauled in by U.S. Marshals only days before a major drug lord from Mexico gets brought back to the United States."
Continuing from Rita:
"The Congressman, known for fighting for what he believes in, is really trying to do what he can to keep Dog on U.S. soil and free from any further legal actions stemming from the Andrew Luster case. Hes also written a letter to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and asked the public watching our show to log on to his web site to read the letters and reach out to their congressmen and get them to sign onto his letters so that his message can gain momentum."

Kudos to both Tancredo and Crosby for keeping this ridiculous situation in the public eye. Fans of the Dog should follow the advice and contact their representatives in Congress and demand that they sing on with Tancredo and keep the US Bounty Hunter on US soil.
Chapman(Dog) and Ozzy Osbourne may team up.
Like I stated a real "Crazy Train", with Dog(real men wear cornrows)
Rita Cosby
Ozzy Osbourne
and Tom Tancredo
Hey thanks Dane!
I think it is ridiculous that America is about to be extradite "Dog" Chapman to Mexico, when there are drug dealers and murderers wanted in America being protected by the Mexican government.
Dog is a hero. He catches bad guys.
Knowing your views on the topic of illegal immigration, I thought you got hold of some satire targeting Tom Tancredo. Well, this one seems to be legit :)
In any case, the National Ledger seems to be a bit more serious in its news coverage than the Weekly World News.
You believe this from Rita Crosby? From her blog no less?
Unlike you, Tancredo doesn't engage in celebrity gossip.
Yo, Tom...don't you think Congress might have a few more pressing issues at the moment?
Fine. We'll give them Dog if they take back a couple million of their citizens that are up here illegally.
Actually, we should just let his wife go down there and they'll spring Dog immediately. That's one scary woman.

Uh Tom Tancredo has been on his free Dog(IMO, almost akin to a right flank "free Mumia" campaign) for almost a week now.
"Staff meeting in five minutes. I want to know who the joker is that wrote this letter. It's funny but we've got work to do."
Maybe the dog should have laid down and STFU. Instead he went on National TV with his moronic attempts to be Mr. Cool with Ear Rings, Arm Bands, Head Bands, Feathers and a very fat wife stuffed into a very small skirt/top. He made big bucks and now he is going to have to deposit it into a Mexican bank account, if they have their way. That is what I think of "The Dog".
On the other hand, should we send someone to Mexico for a trumped up violation while Mexico will not send known murderers to the US because we have the death penalty? I don't think so.
Dog had 3 years to settle things, but he ignored it and basically skipped bail himself.
I have said it before on these threads, if Dog had not stiffed the Mexican judge, he wouldn't be in the predicament he is in today.
Welcome back from your suspension. How 'bout dem Steelers?
Welcome back from your suspension. How 'bout dem Steelers?
Ahh Dane, back from suspension. Since you couldn't post on FR, I'm sure your local newspaper editor came to know and love you.
In your view, we're supposed to look the other way at illegal immigrants coming over and receiving benefits, thereby being treated better than the average U.S. citizen. But you're Mr. Law-and-Order when it comes to a guy accused of committing a Mexican misdeameanor. That's a real defendable viewpoint, chief.
Dog forfeited the $1300 bail that he paid using his own money. I guess he "stiffed" the judge by not hanging around and allowing his family to be blackmailed for years.
Mexicans fear the long arm of the law because of successful FBI sting operations like Operation Casablanca (1998 I think) which resulted in the punishment of corrupt Mexican bankers whom the Mexican govt. had allowed to get away with their misdeeds. Chapman's rise to fame represents a real threat to them.
I'm very very very leery of an Administration that sends a 12 man SWAT Team to serve a warrant of this nature.
Come on, the guy lives on an Island.
I think somebody wanted a little gun play a la Ruby Ridge.
(For the record, I've done hundreds of operational plans involving armed and unarmed suspects. This stinks to high Heaven.)
Here's the latest example of Mexico's officially sanctioned disrespect for law & order through "legal" means:

Has that new scandal been Freeped yet?
Relatively few people realize, yet, that Mexico's immigration laws are FAR more strict than the USA's (as this documents):
