I think the Dems are mostly upset that tons upon tons of Anti President Bush stuff has been printed and filmed but most of it is based on complete malarkey. Now their gods the Clintonroinds and the Slickster are under attack with reality. They can't accept it. Free speech is a one way street with them. Accurate speech is as unacceptable to them as I was going to say child molestation, but I just remembered that they're for that.

"The content of this drama is factually and incontrovertibly inaccurate and ABC has the duty to fully correct all errors or pull the drama entirely," the four-page letter said.

I have to admit, if this is true, then he has a point. I hate lies and distortions from ANY side, and since the Truth usually points in our direction, there is no need for anything else but. Having said that, I don't know about this TV show. I dont how truthful it is, I dont know the ideological bent of the writers. I suspect, however, that it is much closer to the truth, than most of the Bush bashing stuff ever was.

If you follow the Newsmax link on this thread: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1114669/posts you can download an mp3 file (must click on the Newsmax link first for it to work). It seems to be a working link although I don't have speakers on this computer.

That audio file has to do with Clinton passing up a chance to get bin Laden from Sudan in 1996.

The 911 Commission report has some information about passing up chances to get bin Laden in Afghanistan. Click here http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/AMH/XXI/GWOT/911-Report/911-Report-4.html and scroll down to "The Desert Camp, February 1999" and also "Kandahar, May 1999".

It did happen. the Clintonoids are using the 'dramatization' as an excuse to bash it as having 'never happened'.

What they can't stand is docudramas like this do affect people, who typically dont watch history or political shows. The RATS know this will hurt them, and their chances to take back Congress. BTW, I think the MSM is in classic overreaching with their 'GOP doomed, Dems are going to take back Congress' mantra. It will be close, but the GOP has time to pull out a defensive win, keeping both the House and Congress. That, could likely be the big story election night. 'How Democrats blew their chance' and 'Bush wins big'. the MSM is already spinngin a GOP hold on Congress as a win for Bush, and a Dem retaking of congress as a direct repudiation of Bush's policies.

Every bin Laden special I've seen on cable since 911 has told of the passed up opportunity to kill bin Laden because there was some foreign prince (UAE?) that would have been killed in the explosion.

I didn't realize Clinton himself told of this story though in a post Presidential speech. Anyone know the date or have a link to Clinton's speech? There is so much being written about this subject now it would be very difficult to find it in a google search.

Actually, the reason he gives for not capturing Bin Laden is they didin't have a reason to hold him.

If anyone has it, it would be MiaT.

Anyone wishing to see live news footage from 9/11/01, Fox News is streaming the video from that day. Right now it's up to about 8:30 pm EDT. They may restart the stream at some point.

Remember the 60 Minutes "scandal" (which was based on facts which have never refuted..)

Oh my, the DUmmies are confused yet again (must be all the meds). They must actually be referring to the Swift Boat Veterans, whose facts were never refuted!

Not just no but hell no. This thing has so much publicity it is a guaranteed money-maker for ad revenue. Even the most hardcore blame-America first MIHOPist on the ABC board wants to get paid.

There were a few errors. In a couple scenes, Bill Clinton's fly was actually zipped up.
They may try to fix that with computer graphics.

Hillary's ankles were slimmed using an expensive Silicon GRaphics, Cray and Nasa super computer using the cold of space to keep the systems from overheating.

I agree. ABC will cave and the film will be thoroughly bleached, laundered, starched, pressed and Martinized, by Sunday night.

Except the parts that make Bush look bad.

I don't know the exact date although, I do believe it was in a post this morning in FR. It was the thread about Clinton throwing a fit. I know it took place in Long Island. Maybe you could google Clinton and Long Island.

See post #63 for a link to an audio clip for that Long Island speech. The quote had to do with getting bin Laden from Sudan in 1996.

The latter reason for not nailing bin Laden was captured on tape by Carl Limbacher. (see below)

I, too, recall the 'prince' excuse.... (And the 'collateral damage' excuse, notwithstanding the plain fact that 'collateral damage' didn't stop the clintons from bombing from 3 miles up when it served their purposes... and their poll numbers.)

THE ADDRESS
THE (oops!) TRUTH

"In this interdependent world, we should still have a preference for peace over war....

But sometimes we would have these debates where people would say, if I didn't take some military action this very day, people would look down their nose at America and think we were weak.  And I always thought of Senator Fulbright.... 6

So anytime somebody said in my presence, 'Hey, if you don't do this, people will think you're weak,' I always asked the same question for eight years, 'Can we kill 'em tomorrow?'

I don't think we can bring 'em back tomorrow, but can we kill 'em tomorrow?  If we can kill them tomorrow, then we're not weak.... 1

I learned that as a 20-year-old kid watching Bill Fulbright.  Listening."

Fulbright Prize address

"Mr. bin Laden used to live in Sudan. He was expelled from Saudi Arabia in '91 and he went to the Sudan.

We'd been hearing that the Sudanese wanted America to start dealing with them again. They released him [bin Laden].

At the time, '96, he had committed no crime against America, so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America.

So I pleaded with the Saudis to take him, 'cause they could have; but they thought it was a hot potato. They didn't and that's how he wound up in Afghanistan."

I Nixed Bin Laden Extradition Offer

"I remember exactly what happened. Bruce Lindsey said to me on the phone, 'My God, a second plane has hit the tower.' And I said, 'Bin Laden did this.' that's the first thing I said. He said, 'How can you be sure?' I said 'Because only bin Laden and the Iranians could set up the network to do this and they [the Iranians] wouldn't do it because they have a country in targets. Bin Laden did it.'

I thought that my virtual obsession 2 with him was well placed and I was full of regret that I didn't get him."

... I thank you for this award, even though, in general, I think former presidents and presidents should never get awards.  I was delighted when Jimmy Carter won the Nobel Peace Prize because I thought he earned it, and I thought it was great because he got it as much for what he did after office as when he was in office.  In general, I think that the fact that we got to be president is quite honor enough.

There's been speculation in the last few months that Clinton was pursuing a Mideast peace accord in an effort to win the prize and secure his legacy as president.

At the time, clinton observed: "I made more progress in the Middle East than I did between Socks and Buddy." Retrospectively, it is clear that clinton's characterization was not correct.

This legacy confab is in and of itself proof certain of clinton's deeply flawed character, and a demonstration in real time of the way in which the clinton years were about a legacy that was incidentally a presidency.

Madeleine Albright captured the essence of this dysfunctional presidency best when she explained why clinton couldn't go after bin Laden.

According to Richard Miniter, the Albright revelation occurred at the cabinet meeting that would decide the disposition of the USS Cole bombing by al Qaeda [that is to say, that would decide to do what it had always done when a "bimbo" was not spilling the beans on the clintons: Nothing]. Only Clarke wanted to retaliate militarily for this unambiguous act of war.

Albright explained that a [sham] Mideast accord would yield [if not peace for the principals, surely] a Nobel Peace Prize for clinton. Kill or capture bin Laden and clinton could kiss the 'accord' and the Peace Prize good-bye.

If clinton liberalism, smallness, cowardice, corruption, perfidy--and, to borrow a phrase from Andrew Cuomo, clinton cluelessness--played a part, it was, in the end, the Nobel Peace Prize that produced the puerile pertinacity that enabled the clintons to shrug off terrorism's global danger.
