May Day, mayday!

May Day, mayday!
Illegal immigrants are seeking to impose their will by sheer force of numbers.
Joe Brower
April 15, 2006

I was at the Home Depot in South Venice the other day to buy some “Eucalyptus double-shredded” mulch; however, to my annoyance, there was none to be found. The reason? The company’s production had been down for three days, a result of its largely “undocumented immigrant” workforce having walked off the job to instead fill the streets of Ft. Myers to the tune of 75,000 strong, demanding their self-invented “rights” as a reward for being here illegally. As of this writing, after a couple of lame attempts at a legislative fix, it looks like our esteemed leaders are leaning toward the easy route: bow to the protestors’ will (and the large business interests lobbying on their behalf), in whole or in part.

Wow. We American citizens have to try that sometime. How about we hit the streets by the thousands and protest having to pay income taxes next year? I’m sure the same rules will apply – we don’t like the law, so we’ll just break it, consider it our God-given right, and then get disruptive when we’re not catered to. Surely the government will understand. Or maybe not. After all, somebody has to pay the bills around here.

Immigrant workers, mostly Hispanic, are no longer an uncommon sight here in Sarasota County. You see them every day, putting down stone pavers for someone’s front patio, mowing lawns in Bay Indies, toiling away on many of the local road expansion projects. I went through the Wendy’s drive-through on the bypass a week ago, and the two workers there were chatting back and forth in Spanish. One thing is certain: This isn’t your father’s Venice any more.

All the major papers, perhaps longing to recreate their “glory days” of the ‘60s Civil Rights Movement and based on the pictures they print and their page-one editorializing, fully support these protests. On April 12 the headlines read, “Latinos: Rising Numbers, Rising Voices.” Hmmm… Problem is, those voices can’t speak English. The day before that it was “Immigrants Rally for Recognition”. Oh, we recognize them all right, and the reaction of most people is “If Mexico’s so great, why are these people here?” and “Good lord, we’ve been invaded”. Because that’s what we have here, folks -- a slow-motion invasion, by numbers without historical precedent, who have no desire to integrate into mainstream American society. This is all expertly described in a powerful essay in Foreign Policy, written two years ago by political scientist and author Samuel Huntington, “The Hispanic Challenge”. The main danger, Huntington points out, is the one attribute that differentiates Hispanic immigrants from all others who have come to our shores, legally or no: The majority refuse to assimilate. Instead, they “Balkanize”. And when they chant, "!Aqui estamos, y no nos vamos!" ("We're here now, and we're not leaving!”), they mean it.

Now these illegal workers are planning to strike and conduct La Gran Marcha on May 1st, “May Day,” a longstanding focus for demonstrations by various “worker” (i.e.: socialist) groups, although most of the participants probably don’t know or care much about that. What these immigrants do know is that a variety of American businesses are going to suffer a bit, and the average American consumer is going to be suddenly running short on all kinds of things, like mulch, for example. And what is available will be more expensive. The idea is that the general discomfort level will be sufficient to make Americans acquiesce to their demands.

But how about this idea instead: Get used to it. Are we not Americans and, as such, undaunted by hardship? If we are truly a “nation of laws,” and we resolve as a people to preserve our distinct culture and way of life, there will be pain for all involved, because fixing this long-festering problem will be neither quick nor easy. Like a person who’s been addicted to heroin for thirty years, it’s high time for the U.S. to finally go cold turkey, break our unhealthy habit and get off the dope once and for all. It’s that or “Aprenda el español hoy, evite la prisa mañana.”

No more illegal immigrants means no more cut-rate labor. So what? I’ll take the preservation of my country’s laws and national identity over cheap lettuce and other such self-serving, short-term conveniences. And I’ll mow the lawn myself, thank you.

I'm not so sure about that, Joe. Marxism is a growing trend in Mexico and Latin America and South America. The communist party will probably take power when Fox loses the next election.

__________________________________________________________

This is not about workers rights or fair immigration policies. It has to do with international communist/socialist orgs looking to gain the political upperhand in the U.S..

Posted by JeffHead Jeff links to Mexica.org's 'after protest' pic fest. You can see there what the marchers thought they were marching for.

A poster for Friday’s march. March 31. This poster lists the Latino orgs that are promoting the protests. They are all communist/socialist front orgs.

Here is my analysis of what is going on behind the scenes.

Here is some evidence that 'amnesty' increases illegal entries. These people knew before the demonstrations that the time was ripe.

Smith Act of 1940 This is the U.S. statute that ought to apply to the organized gathering of tens of thousands of foreign nationals calling for the overthrow of our country.

I need to make a correction to my previous postings. H.R. 4437 does not simplify the process of documenting employees. The article at that last link says this:

No Elimination and Reduction of Employment Eligibility Documents. One of the few positive aspects of a mandatory employment eligibility system would be the simplification of the hiring process by reducing the number of documents employers would have to verify to one or two. The bill does not do so. Several other reform proposals (such as the Dreier bill, H.R. 98) provide for such simplification by requiring the use of a tamperproof Social Security card and no others. The bill only studies the use of such documents but does not eliminate the use of any documents and the confusion such documents cause employers.

My apologies to all for proliferating confusion on that. This means that H.R. 4437, the best of all bills so far put forward by our esteemed Congress, isn't too good after all.

Understand that the provision that the protesters say is 'racist,' that makes illegals felons, was inserted by the Dems a short time ago. That clarifies why Hillary happened to discover the immigration issue a week before the marches. Why she demonized Republicans as "making Jesus a criminal."

Keep in mind just who organized these protests. Who provided the tens of thousands of T-shirts, the thousands of professionally made signs, the hours and hours of promotion on Spanish language radio and TV stations. It has been noticed that Islamic orgs names and logos appear on some of these signs as well. Remember that NEA teachers and administrators are the ones who have assisted the march organizers by providing bussing for their students, hoisting Mexican flags at school and overlooking the truancy.

Don't forget that the last two Presidential elections were nearly 50/50. Think about how our Congress is looking for a way to appease these foreign nationals through legislation. No election necessary. The outcome of legalizing 11 million illegals and encouraging more to come will be a solid lock for the left forevermore in national elections. We don’t need an ‘immigration’ bill. We need and want a border security and illegal aliens bill. An immigration/guest worker bill can come after that is done.

Mexico is Rich- Mexican wealthy play American taxpayers for suckers

Good thread for any that missed it. It should really make you mad.

Every dollar spent in U.S. taxes for social services for illegal aliens frees up additional cash to be sent south as part of the annual remittances which provided $20 billion in 2005. According to the CNN news show Lou Dobbs Tonight (3/21/05), "Remittances, as they're called, are expected to become Mexico's primary source of income this year, surpassing the amount of money that Mexico makes on oil exports for the first time ever."

Mayans in Chiapas Region Convert to Islam

The bill that was just defeated in the Senate was an amnesty, plain and simple. But take a look at what these treasonous scumbags tried to hide in it. They will be back and we can expect more of this if we do not act decisively.

Hidden Bombs (Extremely Important Article on Immigration)

The second nasty surprise? Just before the committee approved the bill on the evening of March 27, Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) offered the "DREAM Act" as an amendment. It passed on a voice vote.

The DREAM Act is a nightmare. It repeals a 1996 law that prohibits state universities from offering in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens. The principle, of course, is that no illegal alien should be entitled to receive a taxpayer-subsidized benefit that out-of-state U.S. citizens can't get. But the committee's bill allows illegals to be treated better than those U.S. citizens on tuition.

Here is another reason Washington doesn't seem to want to do anything helpful.

CFR's Plan to Integrate the U.S., Mexico and Canada

What does the White House think about all of this?

U.S. Senator John McCain is offering $50.00 an hour to anyone willing to stay in Yuma for 1 year and pick lettuce. (the season is actually about 18 weeks in mid-winter)

Here are his numbers. They will ask you for your name address and phone number.

"It is critical that we are embraced by the American public," said Angelica Salas, executive director of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles.

…..they can show solidarity by wearing white ribbons and American flag pins or posting placards bearing the phrase "In God We Trust" on vehicles and outside of their homes, businesses and work sites, he [Jaime Cisneros] said.

If they have to be told then it sure ain't in their hearts.

Tomatoes grow well especially if you use a good mix like Edna's Best plus a little calcium or even a couple of Tums in the soil.... you can find them in garden shops and on their website.

...backlash...

I've begun keeping a disposable camera in my truck. I click away at any and everything I "think" might look "fishy". On whatever that day they marched, after the L.A. march, I took a snapshot of a local mexican restaurant that had a "closed Monday" sign out front. I am not shy about snapping these photo's. Additionally, I have car magnets that read, Secure Our Borders NOW, on the back of my vehicles. It makes them nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof. They don't know what I am up to.
They can try to white-wash their campaign, but they can't cover up the backwash they've created or their backhanded integrity.

They are stealing & abusing more than our patriotic symbols. And, they are waving the "victim" card around like its the key to the kingdom. (Unfortunately, it just may be.) Bottom line is, they are criminals. They are not law abiding citizens. They are illegally in this country. Their numbers, their nationality, and their whereabouts are obscure. God is clear about obeying laws. God is clear about stealing and lusting after/from your neighbor. God is also clear about works... along side of faith. So, I am glad they trust God. Because I have no doubts God is just. Let them reap what they sow... .
