Thank you! I thought it was a free country too. But here on FR in the past I was told that I was going to Hell for defying Gods law to go forth and be fruitful, and worse things were said.
Today someone wants to take away my right to vote because of my choice.
So you see why I am defensive about the subject!

I've been told (not on FR, but to my face) that I'm going to Hell because I had water sprinkled on my head when I was baptized rather than being immersed. I'm also going to Hell (via FR) for using birth control to limit the number of children I have with my husband. It's amazing the number of things that can send you to Hell! To all who complain about paying for the education of other peoples' kids, I'd like to put out there that other people did pay for your childhood education. Fair trade? No. But neither is social security.

I'm with you, JRBC. It's too complex an issue for these sort of blanket statements.
Besides, many unmarried welfare mothers vote Democrat. Did these FReepers intend that the welfare moms, who've "gone forth and been fruitful", get to vote and intelligent women like ourselves do not?
*zips lip and moves away to fume about this one, more quietly*
