Cuba is a shining example of hope and progress to the third world. [...] Given the choice between Socialism and the barbarism of capitalism, I choose Socialism. It's seldom one is afforded the opportunity to see the Democratic Party economic platform spelled out so bluntly, sans the usual "spin."

Cuba is a shining example of hope and progress to the third world. Yes, you too can earn slave wages, ride bicycles or drive 50-year old junker cars, and be jailed for mocking Fidel's beard. But at least you'll be literate and can read Granma anytime you want--since that's the only reading material available.
And then you can risk your life trying to escape this "shining example of hope and progress" by floating across 90 miles of shark-infested waters to reach the shores of the great Capitalist Satan.

Che was married twice & had a lover or two, but did NOT believe in promiscuity.
And he looked so dreamy in a beret... All this Che worship boils down to one thing, his looks. You don't Marx or Lenin's ugly mug on any dorm posters, but they achieved a lot more for communism in the grand scheme of things.

Cuba has obviously been the bastion of equality in Latin America for half a century. Everyone is equally oppressed.
Except for the powerful elite, who are more equal than others.

"Anyone here posting tributes to the Third Reich? I don't think so. We don't even have people here saying what a misunderstood nice guy that David Duke was. I guess the worst we do is say that McCarthy was mostly correct."
You know why? Cuz "conservatives" understand something that "liberals" do NOT - fascism is NOT the polar opposite to communism. It is NOT the "right" but rather much closer to the left on the political/economic spectrum, well beyond the center. Fascism is a stepping stone to communism.
We conservatives as lassiez-faire free-trade natural-rights less-gov indeed are on the "right" if commies/libs/Dems are on the left - and THEY are alot closer to the fascists than we.
It's time this was all set straight.

Given the choice between Socialism and the barbarism of capitalism, I choose Socialism. Translation: "I'm not smart enough or ambitious enough to get a better-paying job than my part-time, minimum-wage barista gig at Starbucks, so I want the government to give me a house and free health care, and make everybody as mediocre as I am."

Justice will be found in the end. The Commies' "justice" is found at the end of a gun barrel.
To: the OlLine Rebel
It's interesting that throughout that entire rant, they never managed to mention the steady flow of refugees from "paradise" to the evil capitalist America.

The dictatorship of the proletariat means exactly what it says: the power of the working class cannot be challenged by the capitalists. Dictatorship of the proletariat is the perfect democracy for all decisions and all power is made by the workers. Power flows upward from the democratically elected worker's committees at the factory floor, to popular committees elected in each city blockROFL! That reminds of John Candy's lines as Tom Tuttle from Tacoma Washington in the movie Volunteers when he was being brainwashed by the Chinese political officer

How naive and ignorant can people be?? Plenty, but it takes a lot of dedicated effort to be as naive and ignorant as the DUmmies. No matter how high their natural level of stupidity, these folks have worked at it to polish it to this degree of perfection.
Probably the only work they ever do.

Power flows upward from the democratically elected worker's committees at the factory floor Oh, give me a break. Half the time the factory workers can't even decide what they'd like to have for lunch. They're not exactly adept at determining the constitutionality of legislation.
