I think you're right about destroying Mecca - I think that this would almost immediately put a halt to Islam and release the people trapped in it. It would be like seeing people released from an evil enchantment.
This is not to say that all of them would be happy about it, and I am sure there would be massive rioting and attacks. But since we would destroy Mecca only in the event that nothing else was working, that would mean there already were mass riots and attacks, and it probably couldn't make the situation any worse. But I bet that the "religion" would be dead within weeks of the bombing, and its unfortunate adherents released from its spell.
Your ideas sound perfectly reasonable to me. Unless there is some sudden change in the nature of Islam - and its consistently bloody and vicious 1500 year history doesn't make this very likely - I think such measures will ultimately be the only survival strategy left to us.
Probably so, but we won't find out until American cities have been nuked first, so we won't exactly be jumping for joy if and when the insane murder cult is terminated.
Put them in Antarctica then.
