I was just wondering if everyone was under the impression the 2 checks are suppose to be exact copies of one another? Because they aren't.

They were both typed separately. (Don't know if it means anything) Just thought I'd toss it out there. I would think a bank uses carbon copy, not typing the same document twice. Once on the check and one for a copy? Know what I mean?

No, not copies of each other. I think they were trying to pass them off as two separate checks.

FYI, since none of those you posted seem to be here to answer, banks will have copies in triplicate. The original, the customer copy & the bank copy. The pre-printed parts will sometimes have different info on them (e.g., the customer copy will say "customer copy", the bank copy will say... well, you get the picture). And obviously the bank copy will likely have a watermark while the carbon copies below will not. So no, the original & the customer copy are not exactly copies. Funny, huh? Ask your own bank to take a let you take a look at their cashier's checks when you get a chance.

This is funny.......Over at DU (lounge) they are doing their usual posting pictures of themselves. Now why in the world are these ladies, in these times, putting their image out there on the internet???

You can bet if one of those pictures ends up on FR though......squeals galore.

I understand that. What I was questioning is the fact that the "typing" ie: spacing, letters, format, etc. are totally different. They are not the same. If they were copies, then for example, why are there more ****** (stars) on one check then the other? Why are one of the dates typed slightly higher than the other? There's more, but I think you know where I'm getting at.

Actually I have no problem with the loosened restraints on language over there.

I tend to take the Patton philosophy when it comes to swearing and there are times that I would ahve like to cut into someome here that really deserves it with some good old fashioned 4 letter vocabulary but couldn't.

I try to be respectful to those that are to me and to those that deserve it there and here...but the Libs and the DUmmies that wander onto the reservation...I have no such compunction.

That's a GREAT point. I didn't notice that. No, there would be no explanation for that.

I get thrown off track by those that want to continue to go back to the two earlier checks that I previously PERSONALLY verified. Since I know I'm not a troll or a mole, I tend to get thrown off track by that. Back on track... for now :-)

Well, I just wanted it out there and now you can see what I'm talking about. There are differences between the two checks. (Not just the check numbers being the same) I don't know what the scammers were trying to prove?
