That's why I like ZoneAlarm. Even the free version hides the last few digits of your IP address.

(NO that is NOT a shamless plug)

I don't know that "peeved" is the right word. I am uncomfortable with our name on the answering maching and would rather it just be our phone number. Part of this is because I'm female. Part of this is because I used to work in mental health and was stalked by a client who followed me home from the parking lot and called my family with the same last name. While this stuff has nothing to do with the answering machine, it adds to my worry about keeping my name private.

I have just am not comfortable with it. However, I did not get in a fight with him about it. When he did it, I commented that I had never done that before as a female living alone and I didn't feel totally comfortable with it. He stated that it doesn't bother him and I wasn't living alone anymore. He stated that he would change it if I wanted and I say that I would see how it goes.

I can't find the reference but Marissa did mention that tidbit posted on DU by one of the FundRaisers back in the day about how Johns Hopkins wasn't aware that Andy had no insurance, how they kinda slipped that one by to get him in... to which Will responded by telling her that was a bald faced Lie.

IT ISN'T A LIE. I distinctly remember Reading Just That on DU during all the fracas. I don't have a link/support for that post, maybe Marissa does. Reason I remember is because it stood out like a sore thumb to me...

Yes, I remember that as well. I don't think you have to worry though, because I believe I saw it in the Timeline. Someone will have to wade through it all, but I'm pretty sure it is recorded there. I'm not sure about screenshots, however.

I went over to CU to read the thread you were talking about to get more info. Anyway, lets just say I was merrily reading along when I came upon a picture I did not need to see. It's gone now but I was wondering if that happened often?

I haven't been to this site before because I was told my eyes would fall out and my tongue would bleed in shaggy ribbons if I happened to come by here.

Has that happened yet? We could take up a fund.

Just a thought.

Sending positive vibes, good thoughts, nice karma, etc., out to you.

Wow! My oldest is 16. The thought of him being on his own in a couple of years scares me to death. I know it has to be hard. I'll keep her in my prayers.

Makes sense to me, especially if you've had trouble in the past.

The question before us now is whether you actually drive a Volvo, or whether that's a clever ruse to throw us off . . . ;)

That was Jimmy Jazz from the dump on a Kevorkian* mission.

He got what he asked for.

Then went back to the DUmp to complain about getting banned.

*Kevorkian = Assisted suicide...or in this case Death By Moderator

Curious, I haven't seen any evidence you're a troll. Until I do, you're welcome as far as I'm concerned. Some people are a bit more edgy than others; since we've suffered quite a bit from infiltrators, I guess that's something you'll just have to put up with.

I think I saw him over there the other day whipping up volunteers for an "assignment". Overcompensating jerkface. (I never saw the MSN pic, BTW.)

I was just wondering how CU and FR keep that from happening more often. I guess since I'd never seen it before I assumed there was a way to stop it. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. I'm not a prude but lets just say that was quite a surprise I could have done without. :)

Maybe this is a really stupid question, but a cashiers check is the same as cash, is it not? So wouldn't it show as being withdrawn from his account the day (or next business day) it was written? Isn't that the purpose of getting a cashiers check instead of writing a personal check?

I think you can get a cashiers check without even having an account. You can get one with cash. A cashiers means that the bank has guaranteed the check is funded because it is drawn on the banks account. You do not need a backup account in your own name. It is like cash.

You can't bounce a cashier's check like Andy tried to say before he self deleted his post... hahahahaha

I can certainly dig the suspiciousness. I'm up to that, and if I fail, you boot me. Happens all the time at DU... some guilty fall along with some innocents. such is life.

It was "flyarm" that posted that she "lied" to JH about the insurance to get Undie in there. That was the post where she said her husband and boss were really ticked off about it. I don't have it handy, but I know it's here somewhere.
