As far as the one calling me about prison. I made posts advising (mostly as taunts) that someone better make a deal. I am no more in this drama than anyone else. That's not what it read like. It read like you were privy to this super-secret and juicy inside information, that this person whom you refused to name was anxiously contacting you for help in getting to the authorities before all Hell broke loose. Now you're saying that's not what you wrote before. If you were merely taunting, why did you communicate something entirely different in your posts? Again, something just isn't adding up here.

I believe what you said was true, I also think that many around here are so disappointed at the soap opera they have been following isn't turning out the way they expected, that they have lost all sense of reason. With all due respect, I think this is a very unfair characterization. You might be willing to take Undie's word for it, but that is a very low standard of proof to me and I'm sure many others here.
Undie said so, so move along, people. If you consider wanting more proof than that "losing all sense of reason" I don't know what to say.

I made posts advising (mostly as taunts) that someone better make a deal. Can you reveal who that someone is now, or do you still believe there's some chance that that particular someone may take the deal? As for Barset, I would just ignore his accusations as much as possible, as it will only drive us off-course. It seems almost all of on this thread aren't taking his wild jabs at you seriously.

If you can get the comments from Pittsblog, please make sure to get the one(s) from Beth Ferrari, in which she says, "Oh, poor little old us! We don't know nothin' 'bout raisin' no money!"
This, from a veteran politico of the CA Green Party, SF politics, and mental health fundraisers. Not to mention Undie himself, longtime fundraiser, activist, and candidate for WA SOS.
Also, I think there were some other comments by UndieCo insiders there too.
UndieCo cried and thou$and$ now hide!

No, it doesn't sound reasonable, but then again, I have been having fun with this story, and with the exception of sharing some knowledge I have on radiology reports and HIPAA laws, I have only been observing.
This whole thing has seemed like a crock to me from the beginning, and having watched Andy on DU for over a year, I have not trusted him at all. I think he was knee deep in the Bev scam from the beginning, and he was out scammed by her. I think his taste for the "good life", and fund raising to make a living took him over and this is the end result. I do believe however that he was probably sick (and still may be), and he allowed others to make money for him using the sympathy card, without ever being straight forward to begin with. He is a major league scammer, who will get his comeuppance in the end (that doesn't mean I want him to have a deadly disease).
I just think that what Barset said to Speed was uncalled for. He could have questioned his source (many did here), he could have said straight out "I don't believe you", but when he belittles and questions his military service, I thought it was out of line.

"When Delta went in on a strike, Rangers were security for them and back-up. The Rangers depended on the QRT to get to us if something went wrong."
Is this a general description of the conduct of an action, or are you describing what happened when the relief mission in the port at Mogadishu turned into a battle action? Were you directly involved in the action or in an area out of the action, the warehouse, or some other place, since the action perimeter did not expand, but shrank?
"I never met Scot there, but I know he was there. Our long
conversation about it left me no doubt ."
Did you and Scot have this long conversation after the evacuation from Mogdishu, or at some other time and place, and in person, or on the telephone?
Is "Scot" a nickname? Perhaps when you next speak to Scot you could ask him if he knows Andy from Mogadishu, or where, exactly they did meet and become such good buddies.
Perhaps you and Scot and Andy can all meet up for a reunion along with Termite, Bethellen, Joan Halpern, Dr. Cameron, Miss Waverly and the Dancing Dust Bunnies, at Johns Hopkins sometime before Andy's "procedure."
I can appreciate the difficulties you must be experiencing when doubt is expressed about the extraordinary manner in which you got yesterday's information. After all you can only relay what people tell you, sort of a mercy mission, as it were.
It must have been dreadful for this mission to become a battle action, and I apologize if my contempt for your story caused you combat flashbacks, or made you sad.
The upside is that you have discovered many friends and passionate defenders on FR,, a not to be despised gain.

AAAAggggggghhhhhhhh!!!
I just looked and I *didn't* recover the comments page successfully. I only briefly looked at it after refreshing, and I thought I'd gotten it back but it's just the regular blog page.
I really hope someone else has it either here or on CU.

I stated that I don't question Speed's integrity, but his sources. Barset himself apologized, so we need to stop berating him as well.

I also think that many around here are so disappointed at the soap opera they have been following isn't turning out the way they expected I don't know what others were expecting, but the way it's playing out is pretty much what I've been expecting all along: Undie really is sick, and Team Undie is taking advantage of that to shake the money tree and see how much falls out, and they've been pretty misleading and unaccountable in doing it.
The DUpe abides.

IMHO, once it has been verified that those checks have been cashed by Johns Hopkins, to be used in treatment for Undie, the drama will basically be gone.
The only problem I really have is the lack of a third party trust. I would also assume that it is fair for him to use these funds for travel and expenses. Since there is no 3rd party monitoring his expenses, the sky is the limit. He could probably legally stay in 5 star hotels and use expensive limousine services, travelling first class all the way. It may be unethical, but probably not illegal.

I answered the question "Why did they contact you?" With I was taunting them on the board. That is why they PMed me about jail. That struck a nerve, I guess and they contacted me.
I explained the safety valve to them. When they said they were scared about this blowing up, I assumed they were going to the Feds on it. I jumped the gun posting it here. Maybe they got cold feet. Maybe they were advised to shut up, I don't know.

ANDY ALERT!
ANDY ALERT!
DUMMIELAND NOW WITH 573 PAYING MEMBERS! 1,000 THE GOAL!
WITH DUMMIELAND AND THE PROLIFIC PUNDIT "WILLIAM PITT" HAVING SHUT DOWN ALL FREE DISCUSSION OF "THE ANDY STEPHENSON SITUATION," WHERE TO GO NOW?
DUMMIE FUNNIES STILL IN HOT PURSUIT OF THE MONEY! BOUND TO FIND IT!
THROW OUT THE RECORD BOOKS! NO GOOD ANY MORE! THIS EDITION OF THE DUMMIE FUNNIES ALREADY NEARING 45,000 IN AUDIENCE!
I keep watching DUmmieland and the incredibly boring DUmmie "William Pitt," but they appear to have things clamped down, tightly. Anyone have any suggestions as to any other place that bears watching, concerning "the Andy Stephenson situation"?
Point, and I shall go there. No problem.
To: jennyjenny
What is interesting also, at least to me, is the timing of all of it. Andy suddenly comes out of hiding and starts talking (to Speed Addiction, of all people) just about the time Speed is gonna break some news here about someone doing the perp walk. Andy saves himself just in the nick of time, once again!Exactly my misgivings as well. So far, neither Speed nor anyone else has explained this to any degree of satisfaction.

I really must have misstated what I wanted to say (that's the reason I don't post a whole lot). Let me shout this out for all to hear........
I BELIEVE WHAT SPEED SAID ABOUT HIS CONVERSATION.....THAT DOESN'T MEAN I BELIEVE WHAT ANDY TOLD HIM!!!!!
I was upset about what Barset said though, that I will not take back. In case many of you didn't see it (Admins deleted it), it was an insinuation of Speeds military experience, and that I called him out on.
I do think this is all a soap opera (one whos end hasn't yet been written), and I think we were all disappointed that the story that Andy gave Speed wasn't what we wanted to hear. I think that some here also took out that frustration on the messenger, and that is what I was referring too, not if the story Andy gave Speed was true or not. I also think we saw it a couple of days ago when I-love-(I forgot the rest) reported that she called the bank and they verified the checks were written.
I am sorry if I offended anyone, that wasn't my intent. I want everyone to keep the sleuthing, because I think the truth is still out there, but please don't shoot the messenger if they give out the wrong message!
To: commonguymd
I was wondering if anyone has read the book 'The Art of War' by Sun Tzu.
I have.
Which is one of the reasons why I'm not fooled (not one bit!) by all of the distractions. Legitimate fundraisers are very easy to prove; in fact all documentation is provided up front... That's the HUGE red flag waving here.
Notarized documentation of diagnosis
Notarized documentation of procedure(s) and costs involved
Notarized audit of Paypal and other accounts of the "money"
Until that's provided, I'll assume the worst.
AndyScam & Co. saw how easy it was to raise money with little accountability and couldn't help themselves. These guys have been "raising funds" from the sympathetic (regardless of "cause") for quite some time now.
Remember the lines from "The AndyScam"...
The AndyScam makes all the schemes he bakes
Appear on the up and uppy...
Which means that there are some elements of truth in the scam...like he is sick, but to what exent?
Don't listen to that Freeper yuppie
Which bonds the dupes (who have blinding hatred and a lack of judgement too) against a common enemy--an enemy which will be infiltrated with misinformation and irrelevant details--Hence;
Here's a pic of my new puppy
Which is just one of many distractions ginned up to keep everyone off of the real focus, which is...(and you called it)
There could be hundreds of thousands of dollars raised by this scam, given the scope of how many websites, blogs, and talk-radio shows have given the pitch. Which is why there's no problem with giving JH some of the money--he'll get a refund for the balance after his actual treatment.
The only question that remains is, will AndyScam himself be scammed out of his cut? With all the different accounts set up, and the heat that's being generated (not all of the co-scammers know the whole story-purposely), AndyScam is probably very worried. And his co-scammers are closely monitoring FR & CU to get their info, which is why AndyScam is going thru Freepers to spread distractions. Not just for our distraction, but also to distract some of the co-scammers. DU has an AndyScam lockdown, and the vast majority of the scammed there have been pacified....and if they aren't they can't voice their objections anymore, anyway.
Now, as someone who has been scammed in a business venture a few years back by a con-man that made AndyScam look like an amatuer, I personally know that the con will say anything, do anything, and invent anything to keep the distractions going, since it's the distractions that allow the con to continue.
And I mean anything. Here's just a sample of the things my con said/did:
1) Claimed to be a Major in the Army (had documents to prove---turns out he was dishonorably discharge as a private)
2) Claimed to have two children that needed child support or he'd be jailed (had documents to prove--turned out he has no children)
3) Claimed to have a deal in principal for a "band" he managed with Sony (with docs from Sony---which were faked--he stole the bands money and fled Canada with warrants for his arrest)
This is just the tip of the berg--and it went on for almost three years. The main weapon a con like this has is most people's inability to believe that people are capable of this kind of stuff. It's a very powerful weapon, when used for nefarious purposes
Always remember, these guys started to raise funds for "pancreatic cancer" BEFORE any official diagnosis of "pancreatic cancer" was made.
Also, the proper, accepted, and legal means of raising funds legitimately were ignored,...WHY?...
The vast majority of funds raised has been in very small amounts, and the donors NEVER would have questioned the scam.
IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE FREEPERS, THE ANDYSCAM WOULD HAVE WORKED---EASILY!!!

Checking in for your ping still searching.
As for the ES in Columbus pic, see the molding? It is brown stained, contrasting to the wall. Andy's pic is all color coordinated in brown wood. Keep searching!
I went to Seattle HHI on a fluke, and found a few interesting HHI's but alas no balconies with our "Foliage". I have a few more in Col. and Balt. to contact, but I am right now searching in my area (outside NYC).
Keep looking, we will find this place! I am very determined..and weary from looking at lobbies for foliage! LOL
