Welcome to FR. You seem sincere so I will be respectfull in my response. Let me start by saying I appreciate your sentiments. However, there is a protocol you have violated here, and a newbei wouldn't know about it.

That is, this is sort a reverse of most internet sites of this type. Other sites seem to have the unwritten rule that a person who just cuts and pastes articles to create threads is a hack, but appreciate threads that start with someone just giving a two or three sentence opinion. At Free Republic, the opposite is true. This is mainly an information clearing house. You are encouraged to post articles you find interesting, and discouraged from starting a thread with simply your own unsupported opinion.

It is called a "vanity" and is generally looked down upon. The main exception is if you have been a member for a while and have the ability and ambition to create a "vanity" that seems to look quite a bit reasonable as an op-ed piece.

Just letting you know why people are getting a little rude right out of the gate. But don't let them stop you from posting replies and posting interesting articles.
