I think that line is the core of the DU mentality. They rely so much on what other people think, and for other people to motivate them. I don't think I've ever seen this sentiment expressed once at FR. It speaks to a bunch of vertebrae-free emotionally-driven sob sisters who, when feeling down in their lives, look to someone else to buck them up. That kind of personality never achieves any gola in life; the achievers have their own interior engine. Sure, we all need cheering up now and then, but the real achievers and independent minds never look to someone else to CREATE motivation in them.

All it takes to disperse a crowd of DUmmies is a good cloud of cigar smoke. I've found that, even when the cigar is unlit, they back away and eyeball me nervously...."You.....you're not gonna LIGHT that, are you?" When the cigar is lit, they cough even when no smoke is blown their way.

Wasn't there a DUmmie thread where one of the DUmmies visualized his own reality of Kerry/Edwards and their crew hiding behind sofas in the White House on January 20, and when the Bushes got back from the Inauguration, jumping out yelling "Surprise" and having Bush and Cheney arrested and forced to yield the White House to Kerry/Edwards?
Someone should go over to DU and remind them that all hope is not yet dead! ;-)
