And, truthfully, I don't know why each of them weren't allowed to have 5 index cards with them as part of the rules. No doubt the demoCREEPs would have cheated at that too, but at least Bush would have had an outline of what he wanted to talk about, with some of the key figures to support his statements

There's your reason right there, the Kerry campaign did not want Bush to have this kind of aid. They knew Kerry could easily blather for 2 minutes on about anything. Kerry has had much more practice in debating, extemporaous speaking, starting on the debate team (where he got waxed by Congressman BillyBob) in school. Bush doesn't have that kind of experience, and it showed.

"HOWEVER, it is likely a mistake to focus on this."

Don;t think so. . .this should be huge; it deserves the 'light'.

This was a debate that had the DNC in a euphoria and all but claiming Kerry as the next President. This was the debate to lure and make stick; the great 'unwashed and undecided'. To spin every last drop of 'presidential articulaton' into Kerry gold.

More to the point; it exposes again; the 'Swift Boat Kerry' - still a liar; still a cheat - a man who did not serve honorably then; and with his history as a Senator and now a 'Candidate for the President'; he has yet to distinguish himself honorably.

Kerry should be shamed publicly and made to be accountable; and the debates should be cancelled.

The sham and the shame have to rest on the guilty.

My Own due diligence. My apologies if someone posted this timeline, but I've been working on it for a while,
so I wasn't reading through all the posts.

Jim Lehrer said:
"I have agreed to enforce their rules on them"

I say balogney.....

It's no wonder Kerry is facing away from Lehrer, they had been told the Moderator would enforce the rues.

Now if one was to sneak something in, and VIOLATE THE RULES as Kerry OBVIOUSLY did no matter what the closet
libs say, one would do it to avoid the Moderator from catching you.

Kerry is facing clearly facing away from the Moderator:

Think about the Moderators wink to Kerry at the END, and put this into perspective.

Is it Possible the Moderator and one Candidate (kerry) Schemed so that the Moderator would not notice Kerry
removing something from his pocket?

Look at the Moderator, and vies the C-Span or washington Post Rm video and use pause and review to stop and play.

You will see the following:

Jim Lehrer said:
00:00:32 "I have agreed to enforce their rules on them"
.

.
.
00:1:52 Moderator looks Down while kerry, makes way to Podium.
.

.
.
00:1:53 Moderator looks at kerry, as he makes way to Podium.
.

.
.
00:1:54 Moderator looks DOWN while kerry makes way to
Podium.Note Kerry is Conveniently outside of screen coverage,
possibly to avoid deed being filmed. Makes me wonder, how about you?

.

.
.
00:1:54 Moderator looks down while Kerry makes way towards podium with Kerry's back to Moderator.
.

.
.
00:1:55 Kerry reaches into breast suit pocket, VIOLATING DEBATE RULES HE AGREED TO.
.

.
.
00:1:55 Moderator clearly looks at Bush while picking up paper, and turning it over. Ensuring Kerry would not be caught while you see the kerry swipe.
.

.
.
00:1:55 Moderator clearly looks at Bush, ensuring Kerry would not be caught even Camera misses beginning of kerry swipe.
.

.
.
00:1:56 Moderator continues to look down
.

.
.
00:1:57 Moderator looks at Kerry, but Deed has been done, as Podium height blocks Moderator
from seeing what Kerry has removed form Pocket and fiddles with on Podium.

.

.
.
00:1:58 Moderator finally returns a look to kerry after debate violation swipe from suit pocket.
Podium hides done deed. Why is Kerry looking down?

.

.
.
00:1:59 Moderator continues to look at kerry after debate violation swipe from suit pocket,
but again, podium hides done deed.

.

.
.
**I would like to add the screen cap of the Moderators Wink to this, if someone canpost that as well,
it would be appreciated.

NOTE: This absolves the Moderator in my opinion from seeing the deed, as Video proves he was looking
down or at Bush when Kerry violated the Rules.

It does not however absolve the Moderator from explaining the wink, or the possibility that this was
a planned event scheme that was potentially agreed to by the Moderator and Candidate Kerry. The evidence is non-conclusive
to that point although, the wink along with the Moderators view of Kerry during the Violation can
lead to the conclusion of a scheme between the Moderator and the candidate Kerry, in my opinion.

The Video is there, the wink at the end is there, and the evidence is clear.
Kerry Violated the debate rules, cheated, and the format has been compromised by
none other than the candidate himself.

Best Regards,
Sonar5
Joe

I don't think he refuted that there are no Iraq/AQ connections, did he, Cyn? I thought he let it pass completely and we just co-hosted a cocktail party for 60 people and at least 2 doz. people were ticked off at that particular pass. Did we all miss it or was it so tepid it didn't register?

And here are the violations in Question that someone else posted earlier on in this thread: (c) No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate. ... (d) Notwithstanding subparagraph 5(c), the candidates may take notes during the debate on the size, color and type of paper each side prefers. Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium, table or other structure to be used by the candidate in that debate.

Yea, I can tell you one thing. Hurricanes of this type do not come come through Florida every year.

Yesterday I went by a relatively poor area not that close to the water. For miles you know what I saw? Every item these families owned stacked up on the side of the road, all in huge heaps. Waiting for the trash people to come take it away if they can ever get there.

TV's, beds, furniture, everything that makes a house a home, all now just storm debris. That is just in my small town. Ivan caused major damage where there was supposed to be little, miles inland. My Brother-in-laws house on the water was undamaged. So much for punishing all water front dwellers.

I have long called for no building on the beach and extreme low lying areas, but the whole area is low when you have a 20 foot storm surge and a Cat4 storm. Streets everywhere now look like one continuous Beaver Dam, lined up in every subdivision on every road for hundreds of miles. Imagine if every house that is in your town lost at least 2 large trees and had some roof damage. That is what it looks like.

You have no idea of the damage. I do not know how we will recover financially, but we will somehow. I went yesterday to a friends house. It is not in a flood area. He had four feet of water in his house and had to swim out of it during the storm to a barn that had a loft.

So the Press is gone now, along with 100% of the Cotton crops, Soybeans and peanuts. Timber stands that were supposed to be retirement investments, nest eggs for future families or college tuitions are now worth nothing.

The interstate Bridge over the bay has huge holes in it. All traffic heading east and west is being diverted through a tiny town unable to bear the load on a two lane highway. The Commute to work for some people has gone from 20 min. To 3 Hours or more. Many still have no phone or electricity. All of this 20 miles inland and we did not even get the worst of it.

I don't care if they ever build on the beach again but don't paint this as a run of the mill disaster, It's not. Don't try to blame the people who live here either.

You know..there is nothing wrong with compassion, and who made it a dirty word anyway?

You were referring to more than just the debate itself I thought. Sorry if I misunderstood.

I think this constant harping on his performance (which I thought was good as I posted the night of the debate and onward) is not helpful and I admit it irritates me. Do not take it personally, though.

He didn't put glasses on during the debate. I can't ever recall seeing Kerry wear glasses at any public appearance. There is nothing I know of to indicate he even wears glasses. I think you are reaching.

my.02.... It looks to me as if he is pulling out 3x5 cards, IMHO.

I saw them, too -- I saw that he had something on the podium, and that he was looking at it. I assumed it was note cards or a talking-points paper.

I didn't mean to imply that the moderator was "in on it"....just that since this happened on his watch, he should be the one to ask Kerry what he took out of his pocket, and it should be on camera.

Drudge said an "unofficial" Kerry person said the "offical" line will be that he took out a pen.....
And I will repeat, I think this is important since the new Kerry ad calls Bush a liar again today in referring to the debate. Kerry is a cheat....and a liar.
Drudge also said the NYT will have an article tomarrow on this....Yipee.....

What would be interesting is what's on those note cards. I'll bet that the questions were known, and Kerry's answers were outlined on the cards. It explains the "wink" from Lehrer that some saw.

I would like to announce that "Winkgate" is now officially open for investigation.

What did Kerry know, and when did he know it? -- and how much of it was on 3x5 cards (of the same kind people in the LameStreamMedia used to ridicule Ronnie for using)?

What did Jim Lehrer know, and when did he give it to Kerry?

How many Kerry moles are on Lehrer's staff? (Closeted gays passing stuff to HRC and GLAAD count as Kerry moles.)

Who slipped Bush a bad jalapeno?

"He didn't put glasses on during the debate. "

Yes I have given up on the glasses angle. He has something square in his hand. No doubt about it.

"Don't you think the crybaby defense will work against us?"

The tactics of the Left are designed to render their 'enemies' defenseless - by silencing them; or having them just look stupid by their own defense; so that they wished they had remained silent. . .(this is why challenging one's intellectual capacities is a favorite nasty tactic of the Left - i.e. what is the recipient of an attack on his intelligence supposed to say - 'it is not true - I AM really smart?" or his defenders to the rescue: 'bahwah. . .he really, really is intelligent)

The Left designed this 'cry baby' program to which there is NO good or winning, response. . .

Another favorite is . . .'the Conspiracy theory' ie the once-normal-citizen-now-nutcase, by challenging the fraud of the Left; has just earned himself a lifetime membership of a Left-driven national joke - the 'VAST RIGHT-WING CONSPIRACY' and will have a hard time being taken seriously until his post mortem.

And so, those that find themselves 'there'; decide to just shut-up and the Left WINS another round of drinks - on us.

Political correctness; is a necessary tool of the Left and it is a form of mind control/group think; and the Left's political attacks create a behavioral control. A win/win for these less-than, folks. . .

We have to stop them the inch that they hang us on.

That said; you are right and the 'cry baby theme' has already begun. .

A BIGGIE I have not seen anyone talking about.

KERRY: I understand what the president is talking about, because I know what it means to lose people in combat. And the question, is it worth the cost, reminds me of my own thinking when I came back from fighting in that war.

And it reminds me that it is vital for us not to confuse the war, ever, with the warriors. That happened before.
