This debate was won by Kerry if on nothing more than technique. Problem is he lied a few times and did not have the facts on his side for those of us who follow all this s**t. It was imperative for Kerry to gain ground tonight. He may have gained a little, but it shouldn't be enough. There are still many days and two more debates to come. No harm done. (But Kerry is the better debater. Don't look for him to be better the second time, in other words, don't misunderestimate Pres. Bush.)

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought I heard Kerry say he would eliminate all U.S. nuclear weapons....as a starting point...before others eliminated theirs.

someone on another thread said Kerry lied better than Bush told the truth. Kerry had the advantage like a terrorist in some respects. He can sit on the side, use alot of disparate facts unrelated to a general view of things and pound away. He was like a sunday morning quarterback. I wanted the Pres to say that a war wasnt perfect, it wasn;t a movie and that this is an ongoing battle and there will be mistakes, things not done as fast as we want them, etc. I wanted the Pres to say it is easy to run a war in retro when you aren;t the man in the big chair. I dont think this debate changed any minds, I really don;t

I disagree. Kerry did not win the debate. He got his ass kicked from pillar to post. He may have sounded good on radio, but he looked like rotten meat on TV. It was the nitpicker v. the man of vision. And don't pay any attention to the pundits. Wait for the polls. I guarantee that women, like my wife, loved Bush.

Kerry is a pedantic girlie man.

Quit worrying. GWB hit a home run tonight. He put a hurtin on Kerry. Game over.

Brilliant strategy to put foreign policy 1st.
